What film did you watch last night?

On a course all week, so far have watched:

Transformers 2: Pretty good, enjoyed it
Moon: nice twist, good film
Star Trek: Real surprised and liked it
Crank 2: Mindless fun
The Taking of Pelham 123: Not bad, could have been better.
District 9: what a strange film, good though.

Boogie Nights (1997)

This somehow slipped through my net of watched films!

I found it to be quite good and had a great feel about it, feels like a very mature film, hard to explain but it has a feel about it that reminds me of older quality films. While watching it I forgot that it was made in 90's! Sets the scene very very well, good cast, and great directing.

My only criticism was I thought the story could have been told over a much shorter period of time.

7.5/10
heather graham naked, what's not to like? :D
it is rather long though yes

28 Days Later.

Bought it on Blu-ray not realising the video quality is meant to be poor to add to the realism.

Quite a good film, Sound quality seemed quite poor with the centre channel being very quiet so you turn it up loud to here the dialogue, only to have an infected come bursting in, which of course is blaringly loud with good sound quality :p.
In the last 10 minutes the video quality returns back to blu-ray standard though.

Was quite a good film though. Bought 28 Weeks Later before that so i had to buy it ;)

Now am undecided between watching tonight;

Star Trek
Lesbian Vampire Killers
The Day The Earth Stood Still, or
28 Weeks Later

8/10

Star Trek

10/10

Best visuals i have seen yet on blu-ray.
Audio is excellent too.
Film itself it brilliant.

Couldn't seem to get it to send any audio to the rear channels though. So it was only playing in 3.1 really :(

Anyone got it on blu ray and have the same issue?

Tested the speakers and the test plays out of all speakers.

I had a little bit of a movie marathon last night watching 2 of my favourite films:)

Donnie Brasco - absolutely fantastic film, and i actually read the book by joseph Pistone a couple of months back too.

The Hunt for Red October - Again a great film and the book was a corker too.

Dragon Hunters

CGI adaptation of a French cartoon series. Story was a little basic, but still enjoyable, but the CGI itself is BRILLIANT!! Some of the best I have seen, which is surprising given it wasn't made by Pixar/Disney/Dreamworks.

I'd recommend for the art/stylisation alone.

I saw this and thought exactly the same thing, you could bin the story completely and not miss it, because the animation and look of the film is so incredible. I agree, the best I've ever seen, even better than 'Up'.

Just got back from Paranormal activity and Law Abiding citizen.

Paranormal was okay though not scary.

Found Law Abiding citizen really enjoyable although I was hoping for a different ending :p

Just watched 2 films

Dead Snow (Død snø for the pretentious) which was an amusing and gory bit of fun.
Punisher:War Zone which was an amusing and gory bit of fun.

Somers Town really enjoyed it.

I've not enjoyed a film that much in quite a while, fantastic.
Looks amazing.
