What film did you watch last night?

I've been somewhat behind in the movie scene and I haven't really watched any of the bigger titles.

Recently I watched -

Up - Fantastic movie. The first 10 minutes of the film were really emotional. True art. I'd personally give it an 8.5/10

Transformers - Another good movie. Some of the scenes were really exciting and it had really good music in some parts. I felt character development was great aswell, you really took a warming to them. 8/10

Transformers 2 - I was somewhat less thrilled by this and I'm not really sure why. To me, the story felt like it was slow and that it was dragging on quite a bit. It had a cool ending though. 6.5/10

I have a lot of movies to catch up on. I haven't even seen Gladiator yet and it supposed to be brilliant. I'm such a noob.

Just finished watching Kiyoshi Kurosawa's Cure. Great movie, very unsettling and atmospheric, although I think I need to watch it again!

Definatly reccommend to anyone who likes their horror/ thriller/ psychological movies.

7.5/10

The night before last i watched "Gamer", tbh it was fine but i have to say that although i dont mind Gerard Butler as he seems pleasant enough unfortunately his accents are terrible.
I thought the film a bit meh overall, some good bits. But Michael C Hall was brilliant, especially the Sammy Davis Jr bit, loved that.

My Bloody Valentine - disappointing, its graphic but not scary, nowhere near the amount of boobs I was expecting either. The explanation/twist is a bit lame, I was actually bored towards the end and got up from the sofa and went on the net and glanced back now and againg to catch the ending.

The Royal Tenenbaums.

Enough said. :D

Brilliant film, I love all of Wes Anderson's films :)

I watched 'Paranormal Activity' last night.

A really surprising film! I haven't seen a horror film that was convincing or impressive in so long I'd almost forgotten the genre completely, but this really did it for me. I think the best thing was the total lack of 'Hollywood' in the film, everything was totally realistic, the most obvious of which being the acting which seemed totally natural and real. The 'effects' such as they were were all nicely understated and left everything to the imagination, with most of the scares coming from suspense. I also loved the way it tapped into the real fears we all feel on this subject. One thing I picked up on was when they set the camera up pointing into the hall way at night, your eye naturally tried to discern shapes in the darkness that weren't even there, just like you do in real life, really clever and original stuff.

9/10 - almost perfect, a must watch.

Carriers 7/10

Four kids are driving through the desert on the way to the beach, their faces anything but cheery: this isn't Spring Break. They're trying to outrun the end of the world and each other. In Alex and David Pastor's CARRIERS, no one is safe from the viral pandemic threatening to wipe out the human race. Determined to elude the deadly virus, Danny (LOU TAYLOR PUCCI), his brother Brian (CHRIS PINE), his girlfriend Bobby (PIPER PERABO) and Danny's school friend Kate (EMILY VANCAMP) speed across the Southwestern U.S. to reach a place of possible safety. Over the course of four days, the group is faced with moral decisions that no human should ever be forced to face. They discover that their greatest enemy is not the microbe attacking humanity, but the darkness within themselves.

Watched Paranormal Activity last night - considering there's only four characters in the movie and all the Blair Witch esq camera footage I made it through the entire movie.

Wasn't too bad, little slow and I kept thinking why the hell dont they just leave? Wouldn't recomend watching it with the lights out - it'll make you jump ;)

...because it follows her

Yeah I know - but at least they'd get a couple of decent nights sleep as stated in the movie it will "eventually" catch up with her.

I also couldn't understand the boyfriends reluctance to make the phone call - have to agree with earlier posts on here though, the suspense is brilliant. Especially the talc powder scene

****TERMINATOR SALVATION SPOILERS****

I just watched Terminator 4 and have to say I really enjoyed it, a lot better than 3 though I enjoyed that as well.

The final battle between John Connor, Marcus Wright and the T-800 was something of an amalgamated re-imaged homage of the final fights from the first 2 Terminator films. Anyone else think that?

Wish I'd seen it at the cinema now.

Yeah it's alright. Certainly better than Terminator 3, I couldn't stand the amount of stupid jokes that were in that. They made an absolute joke of Arnie as the Terminator and made him look completely retarded. What was worse, was the female Terminator the 'TX' looked as though she didn't have a clue what she was doing and looked very 'confused' all the time and wasn't anywhere near as threatening or menacing as Robert Patrick (who played the T-1000) at all.

Terminator Salvation wasn't perfect, but it was very watchable and seemed to respect the previous movies a whole lot more than T3 ever did.
