To stop heat transferring from the head to the plenum, thus reducing intake air temperature?
Yup and solved design flaw of upper plenum that got corrected later on.

From what I researched its best hp/torque mod one can do on VQ35DE engine :) With that intake and exhaust map looking 300+hp after rev up remap :)

My local Porsche specialist uses an X Type. Could be worse I suppose?

Tbh I was just grateful for have anything at all instead of the usual “Yes, I can see you’re booking in a 400BHP RWD car but you’re far too young for us to be able to trust you with our Nissan Micra for a couple of days” :p

That is impressive. :)
ye for 100 bucks delivered and 1.5 hour job init :D there are few 8 12 16 mm ones. I went for 8 as its best on all revs the taller spacer gains move up in revs and You loose bottom. And what is nice about Z its torque compared to all my angle grinders.happy cruising around town with diesel like rps. Where teg was 3500rpm minimum even at 30mph on 4th gear :D

Needs light Flywheel BAD. Not sure what to get first Clutch or remap :P

But in general VQ35 engines are case ofget bolton get map You are done. At lest on NA :)

@grudas
looks good

Way more than that, it changes plenum volume and runner lengths.Runner lengths can have a noticeable affect on the torque curve (You generally sacrifice some low down torque for an increase at higher RPM

I'm not even sure I understand how a plenum works...

In my world the air goes in through the throttle body into the intake manifold and into the cylinders. What does the plenum do?

Got quoted £500 to fix the 7G tronic, which is a reconditioned TCU from MB with the same warranty as a new one plus the transmission oil & filter kit, and labour. Could've been much worse. They said it wasn't worth fixing the existing TCU as it'd cost almost as much. Brand new TCU would've been £750 with labour and oil & filter kit.

The amount of paperwork they have to send to MB for it is ridiculous though, as it's a theft sensitive part. Multiple copies of utility bills, ID, V5, etc...

Spent a while battling to get my oil filter cap undone. It's in such a crappy place on my car and you get barely any movement with a socket wrench - perhaps 1/4 of a turn if you're lucky, with scraped knuckles too. Finally did it and then just so happened to notice my bumper has a ridiculous amount of stone chips on it. Annoying when I've only had the car 2 months and it was nearly spotless back then.
