What have you done to your car today?

Nipped it over to Dexel on the way into work to sort out the slow puncture.

Repaired £19.50 - Hasn’t this gone up!

I’m a little OCD and don’t like knowing I have a repair in a Tyre but I know they are perfectly safe, but still.

Same - I'd rather replace both on an axel than drive with a repair LOL... everything seems to be getting more expensive especially car stuff :(

Got a 4 wheel alignment done with a trusted alignment specialist.

Also got my front tyres balanced after a shoddy mobile fitting job done before Christmas, and decided to get the rears balanced too.

Taxed both the Citroen C1 - £20 :) and the RS6 - £630 :(

I also filled both up with the C1 hitting 60mpg over the last 320 miles :) and the RS6 hitting 16mpg over the last 220 miles now the weathers getting "better" so I can actually use the full power more and more :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

What gen 3 series? On my F30 I had a loud rattling noise when accelerating fairly quickly from a standstill. Turned out to be a clip that holds the handbrake cables in above the driveshaft, fairly common on the F3x. Proper fix involves dropping fuel tank and driveshaft but I just used 4 metal cable ties to hold it out the way.

Probably not your issue but worth a mention.
thanks - I'll check, - frequency of rattling is fairly high;
after some youtube research, further drive, I'll post a recording, I think it is going to probably be anti-roll bar bushing which can transmit noise easily into car interior, or the end links onto the wheel.

Car didn't melt so the coolant pump must be running!
was there a moral, just unlucky removing bolt ... like not enough penetrating oil, or (always worries me), a garages impact driver, might have had less impact.

Initially I kicked myself for not putting penetrating oil on first, but as I went further and further into extraction... I think it was not coming out to be honest :(

Thankfully it was a nice simple location with plenty of room for a nut and a second spanner. I got lucky in that sense!

E: it sheared off with not much force also. Using less than all my strength on a 6 inch ratchet.

Something a bit different.

My favourite place on earth is the exclusion zone around the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. On our last visit my friend took this photo with his drone.

I found a guy on the net that does amazing artwork on engine covers.

For a brief moment, I was wondering "why would you want to display such a beautiful piece of work on a rocker cover where no one will see it?"
It never occurred to me you mean the cover will be out of the car, until I remembered tables made from engine blocks and the like :D

The intention is to fit the cover to the engine. Although I was looking for another one last night as my GF suggested it should go on a wall, not in the engine bay.

It will be seen at shows etc.

Time of year to renew the warranty on the RS3, £600. Not too bad for all component and no excess, and going on previous years claims I wouldn't want to run the car without it!

And just remember that means it's insurance time as well :( Just logged into my account, £430 with a fault claim since my last renewal. Only £100 more than last year with the claim so not the end of the world.

And forgot £44 of that was RAC cover.

CV Boot replaced, MOT...just got a called from the Garage, finally can pick it up!

Amazing how much I miss my car not having it for just 2 days.

Due MOT soon so just deciding if to address every advisory from last time around or if to do the bare minimum and see if it fails on any of the previous advisories or if they stay as advisories :) Complete opposite to how I normally treat cars so struggling with that a little, but 100% won't get any of that spend back and unlikely to be hanging onto it for too long.

My previous post hasn't aged well if I'm completely honest :) New discs/pads/shocks on the rear of the sheddy 320d runabout

Torn on if to pressure wash all the dirt, my OCD says yes, my logical side thinks I'm just going to highlight more issues currently hidden by the dirt :D

Also had to throw on the winter tyres as bad inside edge wear on the rear tyres

For those who don’t frequent the tyre thread, fitted 4 new tyres to finally make my car drivable after 2 weeks. Didn’t realise the offending tyre was so bad, really lucky it didn’t go why driving. Hit a pot hole, didn’t notice the damage on the inner edge, fortunately I had a service a few days later that picked it up. So so lucky it didn’t go at speed. I don’t think the old rigid rubber helped the situation.

Night and day difference going from 3 incredibly worn tyres plus one recently changed tyre by the previous owner. 4 CSC7s on there now :)

Yeah that's scary. I had similar on my wife's car a few years ago. Tyres were a crap brand so were due for replacement anyway but tread and condition looked ok from the outside. But one day it was parked up and I came out to it to see it was flat - this was why:

Hadn't ever seen that happen before then.

Drove it properly for the first time in weeks. Still a tiny bit of slip on the tyres until the factory layer wears off. Was presented with a low battery and tyre pressure warnings, the former made stopping for petrol a little more nerve inducing than needed. Fully charged by the time I got to work through and eventually managed to reset the tyre pressures through Audi’s incredibly unintuitive menu. Thank goodness for YouTube.

I have been trying to buy a spare wheel for my Mrs Corsa VXR for ages.
No one can tell me what size I need to buy to get over the brakes.
I have visited the dealer twice, both times they never came back to me, even when chased they said they would call me back asap...So, I went to twitter explained to Vaux that I was annoyed and the dealer had let me down twice.
They said, no problem, PM us and we will solve it.
24 hours later I messaged them again asking what the progress was, and they said they could not tell me and I should go to the dealer.....
Peeved...
Did you get this sorted?

You got Brembo brakes?

I the motorsport mechanic let a garage work on my landrover as I just cannot be arsed with it.
New alisport radiator to replace the old allisport radiator. £910 quid from alisport with a new waterproof spal fan assembly.
Noticed the aircon rad was also hanging on by its fins so asked that to be replaced as well £165.
Oh needs a dryer assembly too to go with it. Oh and the aircon fan itself is howling like the bearings have failed.. aftermarket one of those from revotec.. another £160.
Then MOT, then what it fails on for the MOT.
And today the garage text me and asked me to drop in wednesday to chat about how I want this new fan wired as its controlled differently to the old one. (Kenlowe have stopped making / supplying the type I had fitted previously.
Off to Ireland in it in June so it better be reliable! :o
