What have you done to your car today?

Genuine 35 year old BMW top-tint windscreen cracked...
my original got broke because I let the wiper arm fall back against screen when changing blades - I payed - screen was pretty scratched though

have had one stone take out a glass high beam headlight though, maybe new plastics are more resilient ,those should be included in insurance low excess options

Sucks don't it!? Mine is right in my eyeline.

On the plus side, I'm off to Royal Steering Wheels tomorrow. :D

The result! Safe to say, I'm very happy.

Nice what brand discs did you go for, OEM? You got a resonator delete?
OEM discs and Pads they are Brembo I replaced them because one disc was warped, not sure how as they are hardly doing any work considering their size.

Cobra Sport 3" non res full exhaust, much deeper than stock absolutely no drone as well as I had a res delete on the stock exhaust before and it was terrible.

Looks great! If you don't me asking, how much was that? My mk7 Golf R steering wheel could do with retrimming? Did you remove/refit the wheel yourself? Difficult?
Cheers! It was £200 plus £25 fitting. Went for their exchange and fitting option, they're only about 20 kind from me which is handy.

Check out their gallery and IG for loads of inspiration.

Had a bit of time at my mum's but not long enough to take out and lubricate the throttle cable. So I had a quick look at why it was sticky/loose and then suddenly responsive.

I think the cable was just stretched as there was slack in there making the pedal loose! Span the tensioner out a bunch and it much firmer and more consistent. Sadly no time to test it out. Next time :)

Not so much what I’ve done to my car but can anyone shed some light on how reliable or unreliable Range Rover evogues are?

Currently got a BMW 4 series coupe and we’ve recently just got ourselves a new puppy so there will be a lot of travelling involved with the puppy and crate etc and the 4 series is just not adequate for that.

Looking at an SUV style rather than an estate.

Looking at models newer than 2018, if anyone can give some insight to issues they’ve had etc.

Cheers

Yes.

General reliabililty is OK IMO, we have many people with Rangies in work and it's all fairly normal minor stuff.

However, the TD4 in the evoque is a complete disaster unless you are doing long/sustained journeys regularly, so get a petrol.

The issue is the D8 architecture (Evoque (including L551), Disco Sport and E-Pace) all have the engine mounted such that there is no room to have the DPF close to the engine/heat source.. so it's located much further away (behind the bulkhead).. this means in most use cases it can't passively regenerate so almost exclusively requires active regeneration (using Ad-blue), but as a double whammy, as it's further away it's much more sensitive to aborted active regens, which dumps the liquid back in the sump, diluting the oil.. Thus a lot (and I mean a lot) of people experience oil dilution, then DPF issues.

Here's one of many explanations from internal information (given to dealers):

A few having oil dilution/adblue consumption issues in work (Evoques and Disco-sports) have switched to Velar's and reported greatly reduced Adblue consumption for the same driving cycles.. None went for Petrol surprisingly.. seems people all want MPGz when doing low miles..

We have a JLR dealer opposite us in work and I do admit the Evoque/Velar interiors are very nice, but if doing normal urban/rural shorter/slower stop/start journey's, I'd avoid the TD4 evoque and get a Velar.

And of course, we have plenty with 2.0D and 3.0D BMWs who also never seem to have issues, one returned their disco-sport for an X3 2.0D, the Discosport consumed the entire ad-blue tank in 4 months, diluted the oil and was a nightmare, the BMW X3 has not even used 25% of the ad-blue in 9 months for the same usage..
