It is crazy... BMW wanted 1.1k for front discs on my car. I got TRW discs and pads who are the oem manufacturer for about 300 all in.Not mine, but was teaching my mate how to jack up the car and change brakes on his car, the dealership wanted £980 for fronts and rears. We did front discs, pads and rear pads, the rear discs were still perfectly fine, all of those parts came out £140. £840 saving, I can see why people call them stealerships, do people actually pay those prices?
I did my front discs and pads for the first time earlier this year. I managed to get them done much cheaper than the garage wanted, using better parts, including buying a jack and stands! I also now know that swapping the pads with Brembo calipers is one of the easiest jobs there is to do.Not mine, but was teaching my mate how to jack up the car and change brakes on his car, the dealership wanted £980 for fronts and rears. I've used leathermaster protection cream for bm steering wheel & gator + living room suite - not for pleather seats though. Can anyone suggest a product to protect/rejuvenate a leather steering wheel that's showing its age as I always keep my hands in the same places?

As long as it's not a Do Not Repair category then you can try and find out who owns the car after it's written off, buy it as salvage and then pay to have it repairedWhat sucks the most is that she's lost a car she loves and is stuck with a payout from the insurance company. Does anyone have experience with a case like this - hypothetically, would there be a way to force the garage to fix it, even if the insurance company deems it uneconomical?
The amount of wheels I have done in my youth you will never get a good lasting finish with cans.
I'm always more worried about doing things on my missus's Mini than mine, even though it's much older. The chances of something being seized or stuck are much higher whereas everything seems to come off easily with mine.I would have loved to do mine on my current car but I have no one to show me how to do it so I'm just too nervous basically! I would have done it when I had a rougher, older car, but on a newer one I'm too scared I'd **** it up. Writing this now, I'm not sure why the age or how fancy the car is matters
always remember even with insurance...you are the owner of the car until you sign to accept the payout. As long as it's not a Do Not Repair category then you can try and find out who owns the car after it's written off, buy it as salvage and then pay to have it repaired
Maybe the garage has some kind of business insurance that they can claim on to get it fixed for you?? Although I think that's unlikely. What sucks the most is that she's lost a car she loves and is stuck with a payout from the insurance company.
