Finally got time to put the summer wheels back on the 5 series. Well, I could have done it yesterday, but I spent the afternoon giving them a good clean / polish / sealant...

cleaned, polished and waxed bodywork
Cleaned door Shuts and wheels

off to Halfords tomorrow, to get the rest of the stuff

Then I dressed the tyres, waxed the wheels, went back to black with all the black plastics and rubber seals, including front grill and wiper arms etc.
cleaned all the glass inside and out
and hooved all the carpets and seats and mats

looks stunning now

First semi proper clean of the year. Washe, dry, SRP + a second coat on the properly bad bits, wax, cleaned the wheels and dressed the tyres.

SRP seemed to cover most of the small scratches spoke about before from the car wash hose leaning on the top of the C pillar and rear bumper. It needs a claybar and a lot of tar spots removed :(

Is that an Arnold Clark Mazda or just a service centre?

I wouldn't personally let them touch my car outside of the dealer network, even then only if I really, really had to

Quite happy to buy cars from them, just not for them to get anywhere near them!

Service centre/Ford dealer, their Mazda centre is in Aberdeen which is too much hassle for me, not that I imagine their prices would be any different.

Replaced NSF calliper on the MX-5, previous owner replaced both rears and OSF but not NSF!

Also bled the brakes (old fluid was still good but whilst I was under the car thought it was worthwhile doing)

What housing have you gone with? Stock mani is twin scroll on those isn't it? Seems single now with a single wastegate.

I've been looking keenly at these GTX turbos, getting really tired of the disco I have just not working properly. I hear you can get a 0.72AR which is just savage on a 2.0l.

I've been looking at the GTX too. My disco is doing ok, rolled 354BHP at 1.6bar on a 2.0 4 pot. A friend of mine is running a GTX28--something and is closer to 400BHP on 1.4bar on the same size engine, with very decent spool.

I would quite like to break the 400BHP barrier, 354 just doesn't feel quick any more.

Oh dear, not a positive one for me I'm afraid. Sadly that wheel style does the E60 no favours at all :( It's probably one of the most faked wheel styles around too, at one point every E46 and E36 had a fake set on :p

Had a walk around the car today with some AS Tardis. Could do with the whole car decontaminating really. I feel a clay bar/iron-out session coming on...
