What have you done to your car today?

Can you see a better place to put it? :P options are very limited unfortunately, but below it is a hole where the original air box resonator was, so it does get nice cool air through there. I've monitored intake temps via OBD and they stay very low, barely hit 40C which is decent. It would hit 80C on the standard turbo and intercooler :o

I love sleepers too! It's soo much fun.

Not without making some sort of cold air intake and cutting holes in things :p

Doesn't matter then as long as it works. Just thought it looked a bit strange.

As you say it doesn't really hurt it being there. Acme, whatever air goes in that, goes through a piping hot turbo anyway :)

Pretty much yep! The standard turbo was like a heat pump though, it got very hot very easily! At least now the intake temps are a lot lower.

Indeed, I don't fancy cutting anything for an air filter really :p I never really thought about it though, it's how the pipework is on a standard Saab too, with the turbo being up front there's few options, unless I flipped the turbo round which is a lot of effort lol.

Forgive me if I'm being ignorant, but isnt that a bad place for the air filter, curved away from the front of the car, behind the headlight?

Love your car by the way. I have a massive soft spot for sleepers. :)

Also thanks Invader GIR. The voltage has started to drop on the other side too now, so I think I'm going to just re-do the whole lot...

Yes it is a pencil drawing, which I took a photo of, and then annotated in MS Word.
Only the best techniques used here. :D

No need to combine the two switching signals, you only need the one input, let me sort out a diagram....

I didn't think so... I was told to do it like that. :p

Thanks for confirming that suspicion.

I'll use the one for the LH light to avoid having to run two wires across. I suppose I could just tape up the one for the RH light, and remove the fuse?

If you're doing both lights, you'll ideally need TWO relays, one for each light, whilst one relay can work, you have to remember you're putting more load onto the relay itself (usually a fairly light amperage anyway) and the fuse.

Ideally you'd do it somewhat like this mk2 one...

...where you have a relay and 30A fuse for each bulb you're powering. Interestingly, that diagram has 30A relays being required and my 'uprated' loom came with a single 10A to support two lights/bulbs...which would explain why I keep popping the fuse with my modified version of the uprated loom...

E: If you used an 87a in the way you are proposing you'll always have one light illuminated but it'll alternate when you turn the lights on/off. :D

E2: In fact, someone on the polo forum has done just this: http://www.clubpolo.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=175350

Oh, so the 'a' means alternate? Balls... :D

Right well I do have a spare relay, so that should be OK.

Any good? :p

Lame :(

You may be surprised how much of that will polish out though. It's hard to tell for sure whether that's gone down to the primer or it's plastic / paint deposits from the other person's bumper but I suspect the latter. I had a similar (but admittedly much much smaller) section of damage on my car that I made pretty much invisible with the DA.

Yup, am hoping its mainly the other cars paint and it hasn't gone through to the metal. Main area I am worried about is the trailing edge of the rear door as thats where it took the brunt of the force.

Judging by the way the scratches look the did it while entering the bay next to mine which is more annoying because it means they did it while they were parking so either knew and drove off or just didn't give a monkeys.

I walking over to my car, which had a pidgeon stood on it, on the edge of the roof. It looked at me and I looked at it, and then it pooped on my car down the driver's door window whilst I watched. I bet it was saving it up until I walked over and everything :(
