What have you done to your car today?

Details on the rebuild kit? I've got 2 2560r's with bearing failure here, and my current j/b t28 has failing oil seals.
What compressor are you going for? World is your oyster with the 76 trim turbine.

Wonder where all those missing chunks of metal have ended up.
I'd be taking off my head if i were you or going in with a boroscope.

It's the turbine so probably down the exhaust. Some of those edges look melted too so possibly high EGT's but you think thats not likely?

Also check the inside of the manifold for damage in case bits of the manifolds inner skin have broken off and that's what has damaged the blades.

Charged my battery yesterday night as I hadn't used the car for 9 days and havent done a balance for several months / probably a year.

Nice healthy 170 volts this morning

Changed sidelight bulb in Wife's Fiesta, far more hassle than it should be - had to remove the whole headlamp unit as was struggling with it left on the car.

Took the standard head unit out in preparation for the new one arriving tomorrow..
Alarm kept going off every 5-10 minutes after that so I've just gone and put it back in.

Pull the battery/fuse?

It can be a bit of a pain to be honest, getting the head light out is the easiest part I found. Two screws, plastic rivet and brute force :p

Beach Buggy Turbo's.

Thanks I'll have a look.

As said by Ianh it was the exhaust side so anything that happens that end will just go out the exhaust thankfully. Compressor side is perfect.

They do look melted yes. The manifold if fairly new, and there is nothing I can see, plus there are no marks at all on the turbo housing. I've sent some pictures to a guy 'in the know' today, and he's told me the turbine shaft is a cheap and nasty copy hence why it has melted.

Edit: He's also said my compressor wheel is off a TB28, no listing for a GT ball bearing turbo!

The process of removing the head unit was so simple it was quicker for me to plug it back in and put 2 screws in to keep it in place rather than dig out the manual and find which fuse it was :p (If the fuse for the alarm is even easily accessible?!)

Was literally a 2 minute job thankfully.

Fitted this:

I've bashed the front left alloy on a pavement. Ugh. Anyone else done this? I feel such an idiot. I guess there's no real way to repair something like this

How hard? Any pics?

Happened to me once at a bit of speed and shattered an Oz Supperleggera :( Although it was a white van that pushed me into the curb :p

Big chunk of metal came up off the tire of the guy in the lane next to me and landed on my sunroof, big scratches in it now. Lucky it didn't hit the roof but annoyed about the sunroof.

That doesn't look too bad from the outside, could be reparable baring no big dings on the inside of the wheel.

Best to take it to a tyre place and get it checked over / re-balanced.

If you were forced into the curb by a bus... did you get the reg? Make a police report and then contact the bus company and they may very well pay...
