What have you done to your car today?

Changed the H7 headlight bulbs in my Pug 207 for some Osram Night Breaker Plus bulbs.

Clip was missing on one headlight and the bulb was held in by blu-tack by the previous owner. Then I went and lost the clip on the other headlight (it just pinged and flicked somewhere down the front wheel arch). Now they are both held in with blu-tack. :o

Now to order some new clips off the 'bay.

Got a pair of Michelin Primacy HP's with 7MM of tread and a pair of Hankook Kinergy Eco's with 6MM of tread. (no repairs & pressure tested) for the Skoda.

All four tyres, fitting, valving & balancing, and old tyre disposal - £85... I know what the general feeling on part worn tyres is on here, but yeah.

They were just sitting there on a rack, and when faced with the alternatives of spending £200 on ditchfinders or £250 on Kumhos... I thought, why not. Its not like they're 2.5MM LingLongs from Germany. :p

My EfficientGrip Performance's are on about 1.8MM front and 2.2MM rear and the outer shoulders are smooth like a bald mans head. Not what you want in Winter!

Could you not have at least got matching ones rather than two utterly unrelated brands :p Surely the Skoda takes cheap tyres anyway, even for new premium brand ones?

Doesn't matter that they're different brands really, they're in pairs. Nobody has seemed to have a problem with that in the past! :)

I'm less likely to end up in a ditch with these than what I had, I was still running the ones which were a source of amusement for some at the Southern meet.

Tyres are fairly cheap in my size yeah. I'm hoping to sell up soon since I don't do many miles anymore, so didn't want to spend £250 on tyres I wouldn't get much use out of, nor did I want to spend £200 on ditchfinders in winter.

I ran my Polo on part worn tyres for about 25K, it had two Events, a Kumho and a Jinyu. Funnily enough when I crashed it , it had 4x new Contis fitted. :p

Next up, that blasted wheel bearing which has been driving me insane.

Dropped my car off to repair the door and sill this morning. Got a poverty spec Suzuki Swift (3 door) as a courtesy car. Might be a bit tight in the back for the kids.

Yours is the CRZ in that lovely blue?

Hope they do a job to your satisfaction. :)

Insight not CRZ.

The car's been in to the same body shop before for paintwork after being keyed. They did a decent job then but obviously door and sill replacement is a bit more involved. Fingers crossed.

Night be the angle of the pic but doesn't look far off the wear bars anyway :)

Yeah, only a few months left in it I reckon but may be selling the car soon so won't be changing them just yet. Paid €14 for the repair - picked up the nail less than 100m from a tyre shop which was useful!

Right now mines having:

Genuine wishbone bushes, new ball joints, new genuine ARB D bushes, Lemforder drop links, Eibach Sportline springs, Eibach camber bolts, alignment and a brake fluid change.

Then I have receipts in my ownership for what I paid for the car! So I must stop wasting money on an old banger :)

Pick it up tomorrow.

Let me know when you sell it, you sound the ideal person to purchase a car off :D
