What have you done to your car today?

Washed, clayed, Sonax xtreme shine detailer and two coats of Bilt Hamber Double Speed Wax, heard good things about it and it's pretty easy to apply.

It needs a machine polish and I didn't have time today, just wanted to get it protected for the winter so I'll leave that now until Spring time

Two new front tyres and tracking on my sons Fiesta. The rears will need doing before to long as well.
Interesting to watch them take a blow torch to the underside of the car so they could adjust things! :p

Question: im going to service my Scirocco myself this time (oil and filters change) its cost me £60 which is perfect. However how do you go about selling the car on and service history (book stamping)

Obviously you won't be able to stamp the book if you're doing it yourself but for my car, where I've been doing all the servicing myself, I've just kept hold of every receipt for all the parts/oil/filters/etc that I've bought and written the date/mileage I fitted it at on the receipts. Should I ever end up selling the car I'll be able to sell it with all the receipts which is at least better than no evidence of servicing at all.

Made some more progress on my RaspberryPi powered MegaSquirt "dash"

Just waiting for some bits to mount the OLED in a 52mm gauge holder to fit to the dash

Theres a small error with the coolant and inlet temperature readings in this clip that I've since corrected

Put the Redex stop leak in, fingers crossed it'll stop the minor leak.
Finally signed up for a local LPG supplier. 24 hour use and only 45p a litre. Cheapest around here is 49.7 and closest to home is 51.7 (both morrisons) so a fair saving even with the low miles I do. Likely to save a bit more than the 10% as I always run out and end up running on petrol for a couple days.

Potentially stupid question but how do you know there's an error and how would you know whether to trust it or not? Or do you have another obd2 device checking at the same time to set it up?

Confirmed it through the software for my aftermarket ECU. I was subracting a value rather than adding

Following on from my "2-days-work" £700 quote for fitting my audio stuff, had another from a friend of a friend who has a couple audio shops for £300. I expect it might come to a touch more than that but I'm far happier with that, booked in for Thursday.

What audio stuff is this exactly? I don't see how it can possibly be 2 days work even if replacing every component in the car and running completely new wiring? The £700 people must be barking. :p

Full set-up really;
Head Unit (half fitted and all the dash interior is already apart and in my boot anyway), Amp, Sub, Front Components, Rear Coaxials.

So both quotes include fitting and supplying all necessary wiring and sufficient dynamat to do the front doors. £700 quote did include dynamatting rear quarter and partially boot floor whereas the £300 quote didn't.

I'm planning on getting all the seats out to give it a proper clean soon anyway so I'll probably dynamat the entire floor myself.

Try Second Skin instead. I normally use Dynamat Xtreme but opted with SS for the Scoob.

Half the cost and delivers (just as) good results. In fact, I don't even miss my subwoofer... just a decent Pioneer headunit and some amped Infinity comps with SS and MDF rings. The low end is strong, wouldn't expect any more from a set of 6.5" woofers.
