What have you done to your car today?

Mainly for salt corrosion from the air, but going outside to see that my car has been cluster bombed by poo rain every few days isn't great either. :p

My point is though, its almost a given that you wont get pulled for having plates in non-standard places as long as its not somewhere exceedingly stupid, and abides by all the physical regulations. (size, font, reflectiveness, colour, etc)

In either case, doesn't matter now. It will be going in the standard location anyway. :)

You don't know what you're talking about. Let me show you.

Stick on plate:

Standard:

:)

Yes, please get the stick on plate.

I'm getting fed up of all the engineering involved in aerodynamics, only for the government to go and ruin it all by making everyone stick a huge flat object protruding from the front of the attacking surface of their cars. OK it won't make a difference sub-30mph, but as soon as you start hitting 70+ you can say bye bye to your car's aerodynamics.

That standard plate holder in your pic is absolutely horrendous, looks like an aero engineer's worst nightmare!

Just **** on from a great height! :D

Vaguely back on topic, it must be a real problem living on the coast I assume?

I don't have corrosion problems really as the paintwork is always well protected, it's the bird poo that's the problem mostly!

I know, I hate it. Not only because it ruins the looks, but also as you say the aero, and has ruined the paintwork too!

Don't buy a Mazda. :p

Try Second Skin instead. I normally use Dynamat Xtreme but opted with SS for the Scoob.

Half the cost and delivers (just as) good results. In fact, I don't even miss my subwoofer... just a decent Pioneer headunit and some amped Infinity comps with SS and MDF rings. The low end is strong, wouldn't expect any more from a set of 6.5" woofers.

Thanks, will have a look at that too, also saw Silent Coat for a good price but I'll do some proper reading up.

Wrong on the stock weight mines 1054kg with about 35 litress of fuel

~1kg/litre.. Makes sense :p

On the insight just put Osram night breaker unlimited bulbs in and polished the lamps with Quixx headlight restore, followed by a layer of collinite 546. Hopefully helps keep them cleaner as the dirt build up over the last few days dulled headlamps massively, I could barely see!

Whiter than generic bulbs but looking at the lamps at different angles you get glints of blue.
