What have you done to your car today?

not one of those through the wheel arch jobs? if so have fun with that, all i can say is never again

Worse than that. ... Airboxes out, bumper off, washer jets moved, remove headlight.. only then can you get to the bulb housing.
Apparently pre-facelift, it was easy, but I guess they forgot about that bulb when they were redesigning the looks at the front :(

Best part is, I had the wrong bulbs too!!

Oh well, will be much faster next time when the right bulbs come.....

wow, on the one hand i envy you for having a 750i, on the other hand i don't envy you if that's what its like for simple jobs :D

Not my car, but the wifes 2010 1.4 DSG Polo.

Continuing down my "retrofit everything I can that's not extortionate" route, this weekend I fitted the front fog lights, and made up a wiring harness to enable the (I previously fitted, but not enabled) trip computer stalk.

Mods to date:

RNS315 (Sat Nav, Bluetooth Phone, Bluetooth Audio, DAB Radio)
MDI Interface (iPhone/iPod and USB)
Front Arm Rest
Trip Computer (new stalks, new wiring, VCDS enabling)

Still got the genuine VW PDC kit to install (rear only), and will enable that to display graphically on the RNS315.

Tempted to fit the autodimming rear view mirror, and possibly cruise control. I'd like to do the MFSW, but it's that big of a job I'm not sure I can be bothered.

Xenons I've thought about, and assuming I can fall on the parts cheap (get lucky on ebay) I might give that a go.

I could also upgrade the grille to the R-Line one and add the side skirts.

Ordered a Mocal Sandwich plate and relevant sensors to get Oil pressure and temperature inputs into the ECU and subsequently fed to my multifunction gauge so I can keep and eye on things on track. Will see what they are like after the two planned days at Curborough and decide if I'm going to need an oil cooler (I probably will)

Found this dent.

No idea when it happened or what done it. Not sure where to look first to get it popped back out?

Thought about getting the noisy wheel bearing replaced a little bit more, because I arrived at work with a headache... Will book it in next week. :p

Debated who would know how to fix this annoying issue of a clunking type noise coming from the nearside rear wheel area but only when it's sometimes under load going round a roundabout or tight turn. Happens maybe 1/3 of the time. Doesn't show on visual inspection or MOT?

specialists.. most cars will have common issues.

probably a worn bush that wasn't picked by MOT or something loose.

I had a clunk from my z4 and found out it was the AC pipe that popped out of the bracket... inside engine bay and it sounded like a worn bush!

Finally finished drilling & tidying the 120+ holes in my new sheet aluminium engine undertray last night, then promptly fell out of the loft landing on the workbench with the metalwork on it and bent it all out of shape :(

I apologise for laughing a little at that... :p

Hope you didn't hurt yourself? Can you bend it back into shape OK? :)
