What "man jobs" have you done today?

Started to install loft legs to raise the insulation after the comedy work that was done before which squashed everything down.

Why did I not pre drill the holes?

Bit of a random one this but out loft has been boarded out and i'm not sure if there is insulation under the boards. If there is its probably about 15 years old.

Would the best practice be to take your existing loft flooring up, add more insulation then re-board over on loft legs? Or could you lay insulation over existing board with loft legs and put new boards over the top of that? (I know that may be a bit silly buying extra flooring to lay ontop of existing flooring).

Pre-drive all the screws into the small end of the legs first :)
Why when you can just get progressively more tired and angry and low on screws? Then leave half the loft unboarded with a box of unopened loft legs and 3 18mm 2.4x1.2 loft boards up there for 9 months?

Edit: my plumber is doing a boiler service next week so I may actually have to finish the job. Need to drop a fly bomb first tho.

Finally.....after 18 months this wardrobe is almost completed. In this time I did have twins then my wife died....you know, just standard stuff...

I did get a structural engineer to look at removing some of the uprights, but it involved too much work and was outside the scope. Maybe when the roof gets re-done in a few decades some of them can come out.
