What PC games are you playing?

FF VII Remake Intergrade - Don't remember a whole lot since playing this on the PSX but loving this so far. Starting chapter 3,does it open up at all or is it quite linear throughout?
The whole game is quite linear. Unfortunately the next installment ( Rebirth ) goes to the opposite extreme where most of the content is incidental.

I think I'm near the end of Mechwarrior 5: Clans. I've enjoyed it, but if the difficulty continues ramping up as it has over the last few missions, I may need to drop down below the "normal" setting I've played on. Given I had over 600 hours in MW5: Mercenaries, that feels quite... painful.

I'm also making steady progress through Metaphor ReFantazio. I know the demo apparently had performance problems, but the full game has been ticking along quite nicely at 4k/120fps for me, with the GPU fans barely stirring.

I played it through a few times as well. Never as Brick though, because I hated his skill trees. Hated melee and hated rocket launchers. Still do. Mordecai and Lilith were my two favourites.

I could never get on with Brick either for the exact same reasons - I didn't like melee or rocket launchers. It's why I couldn't get into Krieg when I played Borderlands 2. Maya was my jam there.

There's a difference between not supporting it and actively going out of your way to stop people playing though :).

I don't imagine many Linux users expect support for a Windows game, but most companies just say 'if it doesn't work, it doesn't work'.

Aye. One of my many reasons for moving away from Windows was scummy business practices. I have no problem simply not supporting those developers in turn if they go out of their way to stop me playing their game.

I don't expect Linux support, but Proton ensures excellent compatibility across the board and I've had zero issues with performance. Space Marine 2 worked perfectly on release, but they broke it on Linux/Steam Deck with update 3.0. It now works again, but only with a command to make the game think you're on a Steam Deck. Honestly, it's been a reminder of why I don't buy games on launch anymore given the server issues, etc. on top of that...

Agree completely. The only certainty that came out of the Destiny 2 problem is that it ensured I will never buy a Bungie game again, not that I imagine they care as Linux users make up a tiny (but slowly growing) subset of gamers.

I had similar issues with WoW years ago. It would work fine, then Blizzard would release an update that broke it briefly until either Wine fixed it or Blizzard added another patch.

Already got a bit bored with Forza 4 now. Just seems very repetitive and it suffers from the age old problem of most racing games, no matter how low you set the difficulty bar, the AI NPC's always "git gud" and punish the smallest mistake, leaving you dead last. The idea you can just drive across the landscape ignoring walls and fences is also plain daft, IMHO. Lots of cars to collect but they all drive and sound pretty much the same, whether it's a Subaru or Dominic Toretto's muscle car from F and The F.

I can see 90Gb of HD space being freed up again, just a shame I played over the two hour refund window.

Remnant: From the Ashes, enjoying the convoluted story so far. Controls were a bit harder to get used to as numbers are used for potions etc so during boss battles I keep trying to switch weapon with that instead of the designated key or mouse scroll. For some reason this game gives me vibes of Control.

Third play through of Sleeping Dogs for me at the moment, this time on my ROG Ally. It's been a long time since I last played it so it has that lovely familiarity but I can't remember what is coming up next. Honestly one of my favourite games of all time.

I thought I'd gone off gaming again but it turns out that I'd just gone off the rinse and repeat of playing Far Cry 5 and Forza 4, both of which are great but equally a bit too repetitive for long sessions.

Kingdom Come Deliverance, hardcore, all negative perks on.

Really enjoying it, some of the quests are great. I want to complete before KCD 2 is released which is looking rather special.

Started playing BF2042 in Season 7 - Late to the party but I keep rinse repeating online Multiplayer of this.

Also keep dipping in and out of Black Ops 6 Multiplayer with some mates from work.

I really need to stop neglecting my Single Player library!

Why not gamepass it instead of buying it?

Not everyone wants to pay a subscription I expect. Game pass has limited value if you tend to play only a few games for a long time.
Or maybe they don't want bloatware like Xbox game bar and associated **** that goes with it.

You can get 1 month trials for £1.50 though, he's gone and bought the game which he is now bored of after 2 hours and gone over the 2 hour window to refund. Seems like a waste.

I agree, going through that effort to get gamepass trials and new emails is a waste of time.
This was an unfortunate scenario but I wouldn't take GP if it was 99p a month now. I like the benefits having games on Steam brings. Windows is enough MS for me.

It doesn't take long at all, I'd prefer to do that than waste money on a full price game that I am bored with after 2 hours. Just not logical. Horses for courses and all that.
