What PC games are you playing?

Hogwarts Legacy. Took a punt at £12 for standard version and liking it so far after a couple of hours play.
Should last ages given that I tend to only play games a 2-3 hours at most at the weekends.

I quite liked Hogwarts Legacy, but it front-loads a lot of the best stuff. It's a classic example of what could have been an amazing 15 hour game, smeared out to 40 hours with bland open-world pap.

Recently finished Death stranding. I rushed it a bit as I don't have the time or patience for gaming much any more, but the story coupled with the outstanding visuals and audio/music has left a lasting impression on me.

It is a masterpiece in many aspects, but it's not a perfect game, saying that I wholly recommend it. It reminded me of my early gaming days when you had to work towards something, not instant gratification like many games today. (the whole like system aside :D)

I got Stellaris on sale last night.

I have no idea what I am doing, and suspect it might be very hard going...
Play on cadet or ensign difficulty. Build 3 science ships and survey surrounding solar systems for habitable planets. You can automate the planetary building to offset some learning. The core elements are relatively straight forward but the complexity in playstyle is something you can delve into once you've grasped the basics.

Pause at start:

Go into government and set economy to civilian, assuming you are not Gestelt.

Go into market and buy 3 alloy per month.

Tech wise, anything that increase minerals or energy first. If you see organic food bay/module for the star base, nab that as priority, as with that module you can pretty much neglect food districts for a bit.

Trade starbase module is also pretty good as you want at least one star base being purely trade.

I like going down discovery tree first, make sure to set edict map the stars.

First planet you settle, build civilian industries as priority. On capital planet build alloy plant.

3rd planet should start with research lab, you may need 2nd civilian industries if low on consumer goods.

Colonise any green planet asap, more pops the stronger you will be. Worth assigning officials to first few planets to start leveling them up as sector governors for later.

Robot plants are powerful but cost a lot of alloys. But will give you massive population buff.

Anywhere between 2-4 science ships is good, all depends on unity income though, you don’t want it dropping below 15 if you can help it early game. If it does, build monument on capital.

Don’t forget to clear the debris on capital, the third one down gives you an extra pop to start working. Only costs 300 energy.

Find an ally quickly if not genocidal race, defensive pact with friendly neighbour can save you many early wars if you are weak.

Hope that you are not neighbouring a purifier, swarm or exterminator race. If so start thinking about supremacy or unyielding tradition.

If you have ally, immediately rival a genocidal race (if not advanced) for extra influence buff.

Don’t be afraid to play on slow or very slow if you have all the dlc as you will be overwhelmed with messages and it’s very hard to keep up, even with automating planets. Especially when galactic council is formed and the ai will start spamming for deals.

Subbed to Game Pass for 3 months for £18 via CDKeys.

Currently installing MW3 Campaign and BO6 Campaign and MP.

There’s no way I’ll play MP beyond 3 months and it’s giving me a chance to play both campaigns first before being slaughtered on BO6 MP.

Ta! Very helpful.

I didn't pause at all on my first attempt, which led to information overload very quickly.

I decided to finally plough through Final Fantasy XV just to say I did. The characters, plot and combat are all doing nothing for me, but at least it looks kinda okay at times. It's a pity it never got a DLSS upgrade though, as the anti-aliasing options are dismal. It also has a few visual bugs with newer GPUs that can only be resolved by turning settings down.

Is it really that good? I bought it for like 5 euros a few weeks ago but haven't played it yet.

Started playing Hades again, it's great for a quick run here and there.

Yeah Hades is great on the deck; played the sequel but the original is the better of the two.

And yes remnant 2 is a great game; I'd say it's better suited to playing with 1/2 others but can easily do a single player run

Just finished Cocoon. Nice little chill puzzle game. Not a long game, maybe 4hrs but I actually quite like games I can play in one or two sittings, have a good experience then move on.

I'm also about 75% through Voidwrought, initial impression was Hollow Knight and this is still my opinion. 8/10 up to now, only because its kind of got easier towards the end as I levelled up. Dev has said they are looking to rebalance. If you liked Hollow Knight, this one is worth checking out.

That is such an accurate description of the game!! I loved it when I first start playing. Then after about 20/25 hours I just got bored and stopped playing one day. Doubt I will finish even finish it.
