What watch do you wear?

Mine arrived today, been waiting 3 weeks but was on holiday in that time too, very please with the look, feel and overall quality of the watch...

no offence to you. but i can't understand why people like watches like this. they're overly chunky, for no real reason, doesn't feel rather balanced. But my main gripe is the hands. they are a really nasty shape and just throw the whole thing off, & the orient ones. Typography as well, just really nasty :/. each to his own i guess

I'm after a Seamaster 300M - are these online watch stores reliable? Some of them have the Seamaster for ~£2,200 rather than the £2,500-2800 that the jewelers seem to charge.

Any downside to buying this way? Are iconicwatches and swiss watches direct okay? Warranty all good?

Thanks

Strap is on its way TB :)

I've also trimmed the leather Nato so it's no longer looping back in, looks more like a normal strap now on the outside yet still retains the Nato function and comfort on the inside.

Can't trim the nylon ones :p You can see how soft it is by how much the watch is leaning. Very comfortable compared to other leather straps.

Mine arrived last week, it's ok but the strap is very thin.

Did you get the same one? Mine is a bit thicker than the Maratac Nato but the Maratac is a lot stronger of course, the C&B leather is very soft and comfortable but it won't easily rip either I've found when I snagged the watch a couple of times

Also, how do you find the smell, very nice no? :D

They might be OK but when I bought my Seamaster GMT I decided it would be preferable - for peace of mind - to get it through an authorised dealer where I could lay my hands on the thing first. Ultimately, it was a large wadge of cash so for the sake of 15% it made sense to play safe.

Yeah I got the same one. Can't say I noticed the smell, it just smells like leather :p

I got a new every day watch for my birthday today

Casio Edifice EQS-500C-1A1ER

Solar Powered so no more worrying about batteries and sits nicely on my wrist (something the last few watches I have tried haven't).

Cost £82 so very happy.

Doesn't fit in at all with the usual things posted in this thread but I don't get a long well with metal, heavy watches, sold my last one and purchased this with the change.

So I sat here and thought, it's Friday, you ain't got **** to do (which is a lie, but it's Friday) so I got my straps out. Realised I didn't have the strap removal tool, but made something to work.

One thing I would say for the black and red strap, is that it is one of the curved edged straps, not a flat edge (nearest the watch case, see pics) which meant it was a **** to get in!

8554 with the red stitched strap on. Eventually.

That's the curved section, which involved a bit of a persuasion to get it to clip in nicely.

Needs to soften up a little around the case, but the strap is really nice.

Mid change on the 8559, half black, half brown. The Michael Jackson early phase.

Think I prefer the black on the 8559, but it's nice to have a change. This strap better matches my belt :P

I did by a clasp as well, but doesn't look like it'll fit these straps. This brown one is about a inch thick! (OK not quite, but it'll never fit through the slots)

Cheers Robbie - as you know it was thankfully received safe and sound (thank you) and thought id show a few pics of my original Nato, your donated one and a nice leather one as well :P

Your donated nata is earmarked for the Pulsar (here) to replace the rubber strap but its off having a battery replaced at the mo - so here's my daily Rotary on all three :D

Trust also left mate , cheers ;)

Cheers for that :)
The brown leather does look good, been wearing mine more recently, very comfortable!

Either of those Natos look like they will suit the Pulsar as well.

The black on red leather strap looks good as well, especially with the curved lug ends.

Loving all the straps! I made my own in the end following a guide on watchuseek forum.

took a dark brown strap and 'weathered it'

will try and get a better photo later.

My Tag Kirium, from my folks for my 18th birthday.
I was a semi - professional yachtsman at the time and needed a watch that didn't tear the rubber dry cuffs of my sailing jackets and dry suits. The Kirium was perfect and was faultless for 5 seasons. I was fortunate enough to be given a Brightling SOS, which had an expansion strap to wear on the outside of my jacket, but sold it to fund another season - nothing came close to the Tag.
Still going strong after 16 years!
