What watch do you wear?

Actually I have mentioned it, I mentioned it and praised for how elegant it still looks when I got the tudor and that I'd miss it, that I'd have kept it for that very reason but that it would not get worn much because the Tudor felt nicer on the wrist. Hell I've even posted in the HydroConquest thread on another site since as well.

Why would I mention it after that point when it wasn't relevant to a conversation?

Edit* You're like a few others here, selectively picking out points and making a big deal out of nothing, I suggest stopping that and just have a good discussion and/or posting stuff about watches.

Thanks for your suggestions , i think I've posted more different watches here than you have, you just post a lot about whichever one is flavour of the month

I'm not making a big deal out of anything I just think some of your posts are nonsense so I reserve the right of reply

Also didn't your longines come originally with a polished case and centre links? Far blingier than a sub then by your own definition

Likewise, I've posted quite a few watches that I thought were nice, whether I wanted them or not.

Anyway, if your history repeats itself then you can't even tell the difference between sarcasm so yeah, probably worth keeping that reservation in mind next time :p

Also, just an FYI, plenty of people have posted a lot of stuff about their own watches throughout the thread, I'm sure you can see them with a quick skim, especially Seamaster movement complexities, case design, engineering, history, achievements videos etc to name a few being posted by the same folks. All good stuff, so why shouldn't anyone else post about their watches at the time, if anyone is odd it's you for even bringing this up.

Edit*
Yes it did come with a polished bracelet centre section and case sidewall, I even said it as such hence why I custom brushed the whole thing and made it one of a kind.

Indeed I recall you taking a scouring pad to it, or custom brushing it as you call it :p

No not even a "Rolex" fan although IMO they make the nicer cases out there and have some of the better crown/clasp mechanisms :p

If I was looking at a throwback to a vintage era watch I'd almost certainly go with a red Tudor Black Bay:

And simply throw a middle finger up at the social politics surrounding base movements.

Edit*
But at a budget of say around £500 then Steinhart are very hard to beat and they have plenty of choice in designs.

I'm really like that watch !!!!

You did a great job on that! Looked miles better. Never have nor ever will understand super shiny metal (paired with brushed) on watches, brushed all the way :)

Edit: words.

What about the man (or woman :p) who doesn't want a Rolex? :D

The main reason they're cheaper is because they use ETA movements and don't undergo COSC. Those alone are immediate costs savings, just hand pick the best examples of the ETA movement and decorate the rotor/tweak anything else (The BB has date delete, for example) and bam, you have a watch.

I thought of it this way, if the armies around the world were issuing Tudor divers with ETA movements to their soldiers because they were good enough for the battlefield then they're sure as hell good enough for whatever you or I could ever endure out on the mean streets ;)

I've been lurking in this thread for a while :D some nice watches in here.

This just came in so decided to finally post.

Black Dice Industries "The King" Ceramic body Sapphire glass. Managed to get it for £54

I wear the very handsome Longines master collection chrono. I am looking to buy either a rolex explorer 2 or hublot classic fusion soon...in fact I'm heading to Bond Street this afternoon for some wrist action.

I had an Exp II 216570 and it's a fantastic watch; I'd take it over a Hublot any day of the week.

Interesting. I'm leaning towards the explorer 2 black dial but recently saw a hublot fusion in the wild and thought it looked gorgeous. I will make my final decision after visiting Basel in March. Why did you let go of your explorer?

Well that's actually not much difference from how brushed finishes are done anywhere. Remember the erasers you get for ink pens? In bespoke jeweller shops they use them to put brushed effect onto jewellery - the one who did our wedding rings gave me some so that I could restore the brushed finish when it went shiny.
