Question for the watch enthusiasts on here. Flying to the States via Heathrow Terminal 4 in a couple of weeks. Am I likely to be able to pick up any good deals on watches at the airport or is there not much difference? Been toying with the idea of buying a Seamaster for years and thought it might be a good opportunity to do so.

I know I might be able to pick up even cheaper deals in the US but I am joining a ship the following day so will only be there for the afternoon and am unlikely to get the chance.

it will likely be cheaper to buy in the UK tbh. Check iconicwatches before you travel for comparative pricing. beyond iconic cheapest place to buy watches is italy, turkey or spain pretty much (iconic source all theirs from these places).

Saw pictures of this watch in this thread a while ago, and recently bought it from the US company. I really like the all black look, and seems cheap as it was priced at $95 :)

Been thinking about it now for literally years doing research, keeping an eye on prices driving myself crazy. My 30th is coming up and the missus brought up the idea to get one from the year I was born, from the description it was made 29th June where my birthdays the 12th so only 17 days younger than me!

My parents have recently inherited a reasonably large sum of money, and before they spend it all on there house remodelling, they're looking to buy myself and two brother a nice watch, but it needs to be something that'll be nice in 10-20+ years time too, rather than a nasty looking fashion type watch, which will be out of fashion is a few years time

Budget is around £1000....

I do appreciate a nice watch, but i've never been in the market for something in this price range. So thought it may be worth asking you guys what you would go for in this circumstance?

Very nice, congrats!

Really like the Nomos range. I almost bought the Ahoi Atlantic last weekend. Had the salesman not been so pushy I may well have.

I like everything about the Ahoi, except the lug around the crown. It looks like a bit of an afterthought - would be nicer if it was milled as part of the case

A common question - look back in the thread. Tissot, Longines, Christopher Ward etc.

If it was me, I'd ask for a secondhand Omega Speedmaster. Will never go out of style. You can pick one up for £1500 from a dealer or around £1000-£1200 on specialist watch forums.

Go second hand to get more value.
