Saw this on another forum earlier, looked it up and was fully expecting it to be £900+ but it can be had for £450

Such an elegant throwback to the navy field timers of the early to mid 20th century.

I'm looking for a dress watch to wear with a suit for a few upcoming events. I don't want to spend loads as it's not something I'd wear that often. I currently have a Seiko quartz as my daily wear but it's a chronograph. Ideally I want something classic looking with a leather strap, preferably in chestnut colour to match my shoes and belt.

I was looking at the Orient Bambino http://www.creationwatches.com/prod...assic-automatic-er2400mw-mens-watch-6422.html but worried it may be a little bit too big.

Budget could be up to around £400, maybe more at a push.

Is it worth me having an automatic with little wear? I'd rather not have to buy a winder too.

Thanks

You could maybe look at Stowa - though it will be a bit pricier than that... perhaps pick one up second hand

edit - they do have one model that would come in at £450:

Hey OCUK watch gurus - in need of some google-fu!

Bought a new watch (Nevo Watch - will do a full post on it after I find a strap I like if there's enough interest). Only thing is it came with three straps - black leather, tan leather and black nato. I'd really like a nice dark brown leather strap for it since the tan and black don't match my belt/shoes and it looks a little out of place.

I've scoured the internet for two hours and this is the closest I've come:

Only problem is, the watch itself is black and the buckle on that is silver. Hugs and internet cookies to the forum member who finds me as close to that as possible but with a black buckle...

I'd get a Tissot Visodate if I were you:

(can probably be had much cheaper elsewhere)

Funnily enough I actually tried that watch on a couple of years ago in a high street store, was quite tempted at the time.

Anyone know how Tissot compare to C. Ward or Orient? Or are they all much the same in this price range?

Thanks

Edit - also found this Tissot Automatics III only £269 from creation, not sure why it's so much cheaper than the Visodate which I can't find for much less that £395. http://www.creationwatches.com/prod...c-iii-t065-430-16-031-00-mens-watch-5754.html

Creation did have some Visodates in stock at around £300 but they sold out.

The Tissot and Christopher ward will be roughly the same in terms of quality, the Orient will be lower quality unless you get an Orient Star Classic.

I was also about to buy a Visodate but ended up with a Seiko SARB065 "Cocktail Time". The dial is awesome and I love the domed crystal. It's the watch that turned me into a rabid Seiko fanboy. I really wanted to like the Visodate but after trying one on a few times I just didn't want it.

Cost around £350 after import duty etc.
