I used to love watching Trans World Sport, think it was 5am Sunday Ch4 around 1990.

Another +1 for Inspector Gadget. It wasn't on mega early, probably something like 09:30 but it was my daily ritual during school holidays. We would have all been up and had breakfast by then.

As a parent this rule of kids can't get up until the parents are up sounds terrible because it would just lead to the kids trying to cajole us out of bed. I'd be quite happy if they went off and entertained themselves for a couple of hours instead of jumping on me and demanding breakfast at 6am on a weekend

I don’t recall watching cartoons when I got up, but did watch Big Daddy & Giant haystacks knocking seven shades out of each other on a Saturday morning.

My maternal grandparents loved watching UK wrestling in the 70/80s. Even at a young age I couldn't cope with the fact it was clearly fixed.

I think it was on Saturdays. Excellent show, they quite often had really obscure sports on that you maybe wouldn't have otherwise known about.

I never used to watch much TV and was up before 8am, had breakfast and straight out the door to play with my mates be it out and about on our bikes, down the beach and rocks or playing in the woods, we always found something to do.

Not sure what channel it was on but on Saturday mornings in the 90's, King of the Rocket Men(I think) and Flash Gordon back to back, both 50's series. It might have even been on during school holidays and not on a Sat, cant remember.
