When the Gpu's prices will go down ?

AMD is already doing FSR2 and that's going to be quite close to DLSS with time.

I'm swinging more towards AMD again, 6800 in on par with 3070ti - 3080 sometimes out par them (trading blows) and wattage wise is the same as my 5700xt but 30% more performance. Nvidia's pricing is just so out of wack 3070 is £450 the ti is £550 and the 3080 £700. I could go the RTX 3070ti but 8gb will eventually be the minimum spec plus (290 watts). If the driver support for AMD RT gets better over time with FSR 2.0. But then i could go the extra £50 for the 6800xt and undervolt the wattage with more performance.

10 GB would be fine for 1440p imo, I don't think it will be a noticeable issue if it does crop up. 8 GB is when it starts to fall apart, particularly if you want to enable RT (which is the whole reason of buying NV over AMD below a 3080 Ti). Clearly NV was very deliberate with how they set up their line-up so you'd be tempted to buy higher, as you have noticed. If you're not in a rush I'd just wait for next-gen of mid-range cards, at least then NV is giving stuff like the 4070 12 GB (supposedly).

I think your right ill hold off for abit longer, see if the 3080 drops lower.

RDNA 3 is supposedly releasing in August. so it would be good to see how it performs against NV.

also isn't the 10gb vram an issue on the 3080 ?

Whilst FSR isn't on level with DLSS will it be like an fine wine and improve in time? I game at 1440p but want something that if available turn on RT. Or do i wait it out with RDNA 3? lets be honest 4000 series will be out of stock no matter what Nvida say plus looking at the power consumption AMD utilise wattage better (223 watts) vs 3080 (339watts!)

Can. Worms. Lolz. In fairness, past six months or whatever you could pick up a 12GB model for cheaper than the 10GB one which would eradicate your fears! ;)

Heresy. Burn him.

Google apparently, But are AMD doing what Nvidia are doing and getting rid of old stock before they release anything.

But then others are saying November 2022 just in time for Crimbo
The article linked as the sourve from google doesn't even say that....
it's just more guessing and hopium to sell add impressions

The article clearly states
At the time of writing, no official launch date information is available for RDNA 3 GPUs except that they should release in 2022. Well, at least some of them should.

Realistically, it will either be Q3 or Q4 of 2022 based on the “evidence” we’ve gathered and the fact that NVIDIA will be releasing its RTX 4000 GPUs around that same time.

Here’s a rumor from Greymon55 that RDNA 3 GPUs might come as early as October.

Okay then... what evidence? the evidence nvidia will be launching anything is all rumours too

I'd be surprised if we even see a card before December 1st at the current rate of silence from NVDA/AMD

This^

Mind you, I feel the same way about Linus - can't stand the guy. His videos seem to be all adverts and drama-queening. Even Gamer's Nexus seem to be going the same way recently, so much drama-queening clickbait nonsense.

Tim & Steve at HUB (and Tim's Monitors Unboxed) are the only two I bother to watch these days. Great guys with great focused content.

I've only got 2 x tech channels on my sub list, OC3D and Hardware Unboxed, Linus I could quite happily fire into the sun, He's a complete and utter bellsniff, Gamers Nexus as time goes by just comes off as "I sniff my own farts and love it", And Jay is just a pathetic excuse of a man.

Having watched a bit of those J2C videos, talk about an over reaction, 1m views, shows how desperate the internet is for drama. His analysis was comically bad and it's mental how he thought GPUs were going to run out given we know production is the highest it's ever been.

The Youtubers really do have it difficult to continue with their jobs and growth. HUB i like but they branch closer and closer into rumours but have stated that's not their thing. Anything any YTer says is always making them on the edge of being open to massive internet backlash. There's a CPU thread on here firing into HUB unrealistically.

So although his analysis was comically bad, your saying these YT's need some slack as they are desperate for drama and clickbait? If your going to front a tech channel and have access to these components as these guys do, being critical is absolutely needed to keep them honest! Whilst they don't deserve abuse, this is what the unsub and don't watch them element is for right?

as we near September I predict we will start to see the true leaks immerge i.e. the reality of product you will be able to buy not this sanctioned scatter gun approach people keep using as source reference for their content and news articles.

It's merely an observation. Criticism against them whether right or wrong is part of their job, such is life on the internet. They know this, and the abuse they can get is the nature of the internet. It sucks that someone might have bought a GPU off the back of the video, but it's their own fault really for being too loose with their cash, but hardly end of the world as they haven't been scammed or anything majorly bad. My point was it appears like an over reaction, not from the individual who watches Jay, but from those who just jumped on the bandwagon, a million views bandwagon.

For sure they all need criticism, i fully agree. I imagine Jay will learn from this anyway so it's all good in that sense.

Anyway that's POV on it.

these tech people who have run out of content could maybe generate some content of their own....

like frying things on a gpu/cpu, trying weird things as thermal paste.. shows how boring they all are sitting around waiting for an easy effortless video to make money off

If you are interested in ray tracing don't buy rdna2. I would personally wait for 7000/4000 series if you want ray tracing performance. They might only release the £1000+ series 7000/4000 cards this year or if the £600 to £800 pound cards are released this year they might be in such short supply that most people will realistically have to wait until next year to buy them. I suspect that when the 6800 was released in Europe Overclockers could have sold the entire allocation for Europe if given it, let alone what other retailers wanted to order
