When the Gpu's prices will go down ?

I would recommend we all HOLD for slightly longer, the Etherium POS is hopefully going to happen on the 15-16th Sept (estimated), this will mean that GPU's will be unprofitable to mine unless a new Crypto comes along. If Nvidia are concentrating on their old stock being gone we could see some nice discounts but it's unlikely to see a 3080ti below £400 but around £500 - £600.

3080/TI models is the one i'm after or the 3090TI if it drops to £700

holllllddddd TOGETHER GRAPHICS APES STRONG!

LOL

Nvidia Gross margin is around 40% so we are looking at a 40% dip under MSRP before it makes sense to bite on this gen. Otherwise, it is money for old rope. That why the 3090s have been cut so deep, it is because they can, just to shift the stock before they take a loss.

I'm looking to update from my getting on somewhat AMD 480 8GB Red Devil to the Powercolour 6700 10GB very shortly.

I guess it's difficult to predict really but is there any value in waiting any longer?

On the one hand I think prices will go down a tad but on the other I understand the 6700 boards will all be the 6750 refresh very shortly so I'm assuming there will be no new stock of the "new" 6700 card!

Confused :)

Id personally wait till mid September

There will be a flood of used GPU's on the market, we are not talking 1 or 2 imagine over 50,000 used GPU's probably more, it will be Christmas come early

Also https://blog.ethereum.org/2022/08/12/finalized-no-36/

it's finalised, coincidence why Nvidia are holding back i think not

I would be happy to get a 6700 at current prices. As you say they might go down a bit more but also we don't know how many of the gpu die they made and how long they will be in stock for as they don't seem to have been officially announced by AMD. Certainly your not going to lose out like people who bought a 3060 for £695 secondhand while you can get one brand new now for £330ish. You could wait longer and see if the 6700xt/6750xt go down further in price as the 7000 series release but we don't know how far along that will be and how much they will go down to

More cuts coming for the likes of Europe.

NVIDIA CEO finally confirmed that the company is struggling with ‘excess inventory’ of GeForce RTX 30 series. The main issue is not the inventory though but pricing, especially in regions outside China or US. While we often report on price cuts on high-end models from US stores, or the Chinese market flooded with post-mining GPUs, this is not always the case in other regions.

Both the 6700 models literally just dropped by £30 so I ordered one :)

That's because retailers are milking it for 2 year old Gen and no one wants to part way in cash for an overpriced GPU.

you could get a bare bone system on a £800 GPU.

I suspect that from now until the 15th Sept we will see 3070/70ti 3080/80TI have massive drops but not so much on the 3090 series.

I hope people learn from this. It is the consumers that push prices up, granted in the last scenario it was basically miners. But yeah, nvidia or amd don't care about you, they care about profits and they will try to increase them any way they can. Welcome to the modern capitalistic world, that's the nature of business. I'm really pleased this madness might finally be reversing.

What is interesting is the 6900XT price some selling £739! which is 10-15% less performance than a 3090ti and almost cheaper than the 3080TI Model and uses less watts than the 3090TI

Does RT quite well on Cyberpunk at 1440p with FSR 2.0 50-60fps very tempting!

seriously no chance, gamers are fickle bunch, soon as next gen comes along they be queuing up with big signs saying plz Nvidia/Amd take my money, and thats without the FOMO kicking in. gamers get kicked and kicked again by nvidia/amd and their response to them is, thank you, may i have another plz :D

If the rrp of a 3080 is £649, does that mean realistically the price of a 3080 will not drop below that?

Does that make the current £699 3080's a good deal?

I literally had a 3080 on order from day one but starting at queue 585 kinda sucked.

I'm really unsure to pull the trigger on a 3080 or not.
