Paying for games...

People still do that?

I much prefer paying for a game that is complete rather than this micro transaction thing that has grown in popularity. Can end up costing a fortune.

I'm also noticing a rise in this whole beta thing. I get the idea, but sometimes see games eternally in beta.

Spend whatever on hardware. Will not pay anything above £10 for a pc game, can't do it, no idea why.

Don't buy early access either, would rather wait and play a finished game than a demo.

The 3080 I had been keeping my eye on is now £100 more expensive than when I started watching it :(

All 30 series AIBs have gone up, even AMD card, a few weeks back the reference 6950x was £800 and now £950 (AIBS £1200) and cheapest refurbished 3090 is £1200 and new £1300 to £1740.. Seems stocks are coming to the end and people need to get ready to spend £2k on a 4090 or £1700 on an FE.. Just need to wait today and see what AMD has planned, but smelling a £1500 gpu coming too...

Welcome to the new world... :(

Why are PC gamers such a bunch of total morons when it comes to GPUs.

Are their lives that empty & devoid to the point playing video games means common sense goes down the drain.

Ah Early Access! That's what I was meaning when I said beta, couldn't remember the term. Yeah, I do feel early access is being abused a little and there should be something where if the game doesn't get finished then everyone gets refunded. I suppose reviews of the developers can help repeat offenders. VR seems to be rather prone to Early Access (and also a lack of AAA in general).

As of today I've seen the MSI 3090 Ti listed @ £820. So I guess prices on the 30 Series are coming down

Guessing on the 3rd party sellers at a well know online retailer... Was a scam seller on there last few days doing that and they have been refunding people and the seller then tries to get people to send bank transfer... I don't believe any real retailer is selling them at that... Also ebay sellers don't count as you will get a brick in a box.

They have gone up at legitimate retailers.

This was mentioned shortly after the 4090 release and the realisation of the mid tier was destroyed. Prices did bottom but since has been up as retailers 'adjust' their profits pricing. We wont see any substantial movement until the stock of 30 series goes away. AMD have managed to creep their prices lower out of the two.

Ah, I see.

I'm holding out for a 4090 FE, missed all the drops. Would also consider an AIB base card @ RRP.

Never mind that! What's the lowdown on the 7900XT sir?!

Am sure you’ve seen same stream as me? AMD literally have told me nothing so that stream is all we know.

From my experience in the industry expect following:

7900 XT reference at $899 with AIB reference cards circa £949-999 and custom ones a few quid more.

7900 XTX reference at $999 with AIB reference around £1049-£1099 and custome cards around £1199-1299.

In short it is clear the 6000 series is going to run alongside the new gen for a while especially as 6000 series has been reduced in price too:

6600 @ £229
6650 XT @ £299
6700 @ £329
6700 XT @ £399
6750 XT @ £449
6800 @ £549
6800 XT @ £629
6900 XT @ £689
6950 XT @ £799

The above is target prices that should be achievable with a pound of circa 1.15 for Black Friday deals so keep your eyes open for deals hitting around those prices.

We have 6900 XT for £649 which can be seen via the deals forum above as it’s exclusive to loyal forum members. Makes the 6800XT void as the 6900 XT is a very fast that now out performs 3080Ti in some games.

A month from here and the 6950 XT becomes pointless compared to the 7900 XT....price has to drop at least another £100 and then push the rest of the chain down.
Plain 6800 should be under £499 by now to get retail interest.

6950XT is dead now we have like 20pc left and selling ok and little to no stock left in channel, perfect timing by AMD as when 7900 XT lands on December 13th there will be no more 6950XT left anywhere.

6900 XT is £650 so a good chunk cheaper.

Couple of places have early BF deals out already. Gibbo has indicated some prices Overclockers is aiming at for BF just a few posts above.

Just picked up a MSI 6900 XT for £629. New 7000 series will be available Dec 13th which should squeeze prices but after watching the 4090 release and everything going up I'm just taking the jump and getting the card now.
