When the Gpu's prices will go down ?

Pipedreams
I'm guessing you missed the "need" part of that sentence or do you have a reason or maybe even some evidence for why you think such a thing is impossible or very unlikely to happen.
6800 XT prices have increased today at OC, so either the recently lowered prices were too low, or they have been made aware of the replacement 7800 MSRP ;)
Or maybe as (iirc) the rebate scheme that's been well covered on these forums in the last few weeks has ended.

e: On a more general note: I do find it odd that some people seem to reveal in the idea that prices are not going to come down, even going as far as to suggest that they haven't, when in fact we've seen prices slowly falling for almost a year. Granted there's been no sudden fall in prices but that's to be expected, companies are seeing how much they can squeeze out of their customers (helped along by people who seem to like the idea of being taken advantage of so much that they want others to join them).

For the past 4 generations odd numbers have been better than even, 10 buy, 20 skip, 30 buy, 40 skip so let’s see if that trend continues, one thing is for sure performance can’t be as bad this gen as Nvidia won’t be able to get away with shrinking the die sizes again when moving from 5>3nm and if they return to the previous sizes the gains will be huge.

Also you’d think AMD can’t be this bad again next time since this gen they can only really match Nvidias 60/70 class with their top products which is probably why Nvidia decided to cash in and rename them.

That's a tricky one as IMO value and prices are different things, if something costs me £500 to buy and it's going to earn me £1000+ then that's good value. If something costs £400 to make and it's being sold for £500 then that's a good price, not so much if it's being sold for £1.1k.

ok close to traditional pricing doubt we getting £649 80 tier pricing :)

I thought the rebate scheme was purely for the current gen 7900 cards? Also only the 6800 xt prices have jumped on the AMD previous gen side. Maybe the slightly reduced prices and starfield recommended specs were enough to get sales moving again on those cards.

20-30% reduction across the board would be something between £940 - £830 for a 4080. (e: personally I'd say it should be closer to £830 but i threw the 20% in there as that's the minimum I'd expect before I'd even start to think about whether it's good value, currently the prices are simply rip-offs IMO)

Could be, TBH i didn't pay much attention as even with the rebate they're still too pricy for me and daily/weekly fluctuation in prices aren't very good indicators of the longer-term trend. Why they've gone up today is only really something Gibbo could answer and i dare say he's not got the time or would care to say what the reason is.

I just don’t think Jensen is going to give up his leather jackets anytime soon. Prices won’t significantly drop to pre-Covid levels.

I know all tech drops in prices so not bothered about my personal case.

They've seen profits climb from something like 30 to 60 percent so if they fell back to pre mining boom i doubt it would force a wardrobe change.

It looks like there are a lot of 6950s still in stock, so increasing the 6800xt price may make them look more appetising as the gap is so close. Although they are far too power hungry from my perspective, it would need a significant drop in price to justify replacing the PSU as well.

My 3060ti is just not cutting it at 4k or even 3840x1600.
For the last year it has done amazing at them resolutions with dlss and medium to high settings, but it's recently fell off a cliff and looking at ue5 games I think it's time to move it on.

I tried a 7900 xt and didn't gel with it or rather fsr was terrible.
So my only option is 4080 or 4090 as I wouldn't get a 12gb card right now.

I just can't justify 1.1k to 1.5k for 4hrs a week gaming, what to do, what to do.

Grab a 3080 TI or something on the cheap. Or suck it up and lower from Ultra to High. Probably won't make much if any difference to image quality while playing in most games unless you take still and get your microscope put :p

I'm already on medium :p, I would get a 3090 2nd hand but only a few hundred more for a 4080 with warranty. Gpu market so messed up now.

Try a 7900xt again. It’s been flawless for me and out of the current gen both camps the best price/performance for £728
