I am aware Gibbo as check daily and I am tempted but those of us who have waited are now seeing price drops so, can't speak for others, I have more options. Originally, was only looking for 6800xt yet now price 6900xt is within sasme price range as 6800xt. I will buy when I feel will get value for money to 'me' as will keep for few yrs. I got a 980ti for £375 from OCUK after price drops last time but don't expect 3080ti or 6900xt to go so low but who knows as we find out over next few wks just how many GPUs were bought for mining and will now flood the market - my hunch it's a lot.OcUK has new 6900 XT from £899
I am absolutely free to feel any way I want to about what I do to myself personally, I already know it's my own issue, thanks for the "trying to rub it in" though.thing is you have no right to feel bummed, you paid over inflated prices, so sadly its your fault. but as long as your happy with your card, its all good, those that waited are now seeing the bargains
Well either do what I did or have black screens every 5 minutes. I am happy with my decision, but now seeing the prices drop my feelings towards what I have paid are still feeling it, the decision was made.not rubbing it in at all, just saying that you knowingly overpaid for a gpu, so in time those prices would crash, so you knew the consquences, i do feel sorry for those that had no choice but to pay for new gpu, but those with fomo or those that just wanted too, then they knew what they were doing
Snagged a 3060ti fe nice little upgrade from my 1070.nice to see since the first time since launch the fe cards are instock at actual retail pricing. happy days.
Nice. How much?Snagged a 3060ti fe nice little upgrade from my 1070.
I don't think it is purely that a few hundred quid is a massive deal but rather some of feel we are being taking for a ride if we pay an over inflated price for something which has a list price far lower. Would you say/feel the same if your weekly shopping bill was double the cost of what you paid the week before? I understand that GPU producers and retailers have to make a profit otherwise they go out of business but the profit mark ups that have been happening seem, I may be mistaken, extreme. The way I look at it, it's only money, aslong as you don't spend yourself into trouble it's fine, easy to say when you have enough I know but I do so ..well that's what I say. My perspective is, if a few hundrerd quid is actually a massive deal to someone ...they probably shouldn't be buying expensive latest gen computer hardware really, sounds like they would have other priorities, if you don't and can afford it ...don't worry about it, you can always get more money. Ironically for me during the pandemic it was actually a lot easier to get money than GPU's and I think the same was true of quite a few people who didn't get furloughed, I was working quite a lot of overtime on a big datacentre project so I came out the otherside better than I went in, infact a good chunk of my skillset was either directly or indirectly used to help people at various companies stay working remotely.
I sold about 11 cards over the last 12 months whilst mining with them to a well known high street retailer at different points when they were offering outrageous prices. The rest of my mining buddies are selling right now. Flood incoming.I am aware Gibbo as check daily and I am tempted but those of us who have waited are now seeing price drops so, can't speak for others, I have more options. The key difference is I don't buy GPU's every week, perhaps every couple of years so it's a very different situation and it's a luxury prodcut not a necesity. Don't get me wrong, I would rather not pay inflated prices, but, unless we were happy to either make do with what we had or do without there hasn't been much choice the last few years, thankfully that is now changing. I am simply saying, it doesn't make sense for people who already chose to spend more to dwell negatively on that decision months, a year or more after they made it (it can't be good for you mentally), it's just not that important in the grand scheme of things, presumably it made sense to them at the time and that really is the only way to make decisions and move forward.I don't think it is purely that a few hundred quid is a massive deal but rather some of feel we are being taking for a ride if we pay an over inflated price for something which has a list price far lower. Tempting but I just can't bring myself to pay even MSRP for cards about to be replaced.3070, 3070ti and 3080ti FE cards back in stock (as of 06:45 anyway).
If I hadn’t just picked a 3070 up I’d be all over it.
In fact I did consider just ordering one anyway and either selling on or returning the card I have bought but they’re charging £13 for delivery to NI which is disappointing to say the least.
