PS4 defo first - xbone once 'moddable' - maybe ;)

I prefer the PS controller tbh and games like Gran Tourismo, MGS (which apparantly is exclusive to the xbone this time - wtf!), drake uncharted etc.

MGS V isn't exclusive to XB1 it's coming out on everything PS3/PS4 360/XB1 and there's talk of a potential PC release.

Major Nelson tweeted exclusivity after the E3 trailer reveal even though it never was.

Maybe it's exclusive content of some description rather than a console exclusive? Not really followed MGS5 so I couldn't say for sure.

Thanks bud - Seals the deal for me - PS4 pre-order coming up!! :D

Looking more and more like neither
Last of Us made the final decision for me. I cannot be without access to Naughty Dog games from now on. That game has created a discontinuity between what came before Last of Us, and what comes after.

I think what I'm saying is that Last of Us is the Jesus Christ of gaming... in a purely calendar context, obviously. I'm not suggesting any immaculate conception or clever tricks with loaves & fishes, just immaculate game creation and clever tricks with bricks and shivs.

Last of Us is not the messiah, but it's definitely a very Naughty boy.

PC gamer till I die
Until a month ago I was definitely in that camp. Now... now I'm prepared to tolerate a controller and the hassles of console ownership. I bought a PS3 just for GT5 to satisfy my sim racing/Nordschleife itch. Last of Us is the first game I've bought since and -- to my complete amazement -- has shaken my PC Gaming elitism to the core.

I'd still rather play the darned game with a mouse, but sometimes sacrifices have to be made. :-)

Major Nelson tweeted afterwards that he was wrong but decided to leave the tweet up.

Kojima has previously liked to include little easter eggs or platform specific things in his releases e.g psycho mantis reading out your memory card saves - mgs1. Dualshock3 controller being used by Snake to control the mk2 in game - mgs4.

Kojima has also expressed interest in the kinect, in interviews, but I doubt they will utilize it or give any unique content. They're already doing tablet integration for all platforms. He also stated he wants to make Japanese developers the world leaders again, so I think he would be hesitant to give the 360/XB1 release more features over the PS3/4 releases (but that's just speculation on my part)

I think the point is that there aren't any

Easy decision, Xbox One for me.

Sony haven't shown me any reason why I'd want a PS4, it's just a more powerful box, nothing about it says next gen to me, not to mention they are sticking with that god awful controller.

On the other hand Microsoft have laid out their vision of next gen (although somewhat cut back now) and shown how the Xbox One is actually a next generation console, plus the best controller ever just got better.

Will eventually get a PS4 when they build up a decent selection of exclusives and its sub £200.

Clearly you haven't been keeping yourself upto date then!

I'm going Xbox One for a couple of reasons.

1. It will keep my wife happy as she can at least pretend that she will use the Kinect.

2. I live in the US and it seems to integrate in a pretty awesome way with our cable TV boxes & sports.

However, in all honestly I would prefer a PS4.

Now i don't have a gaming PC,Il most likely go with the PS4 because its cheaper..the xbox looks like it will be good but i don't like how they're forcing the kinnect on us for those who have no interest in using it..just pumping up the price...if the option was there to buy just the console without the kinnect and its near enough the same as the PS4 pricing then it would be a hard decision.

Well, it's a whole separate ecosystem to have to deal with and another box to find a home for... with excellent ventilation, because I've no doubt these things will run hot. In fact I'd rather the PS4 was a little larger to ease my concerns about the first generation being a bit Microsofty in the reliability department.

The great thing about my PC is that it just does everything, and does it very well and incredibly cheaply when it comes to gaming (if I'm patient). And if it has a fit, I just dive in, sort it out, and I'm back to business in no time. No returns departments or proprietary parts to deal with.

If it wasn't for Last of Us, showing me that some exclusives are worth the cost of the box and more expensive games, the PS3 would be my first and last console. I certainly won't be buying anything for the PS4 that is even remotely likely to come out on PC eventually, though that may depend upon whether Sony continue to make PS+ very appealing.

Yep, they're merely sticking with a similar controller. It's not ideal, but it's definitely looking to be the best one Sony have ever put out.

Maybe some-one can help, I'm a PC gamer through and through, I only buy consoles for the exclusive titles. I'm pritty much settled on the PS4 it seems the better console by far.

I have a problem though, I love Forza games and the new DeadRising looks pritty amazing to. This alone is swinging me to the Xbox one, all I can see I like on the PS4 release is drive club, and that looks a bit arcady for my liking.
Should I buy an Xbox for 2 games although I want the PS4 console as its more powerful and I preferred the PS3?

I'm in the same situation, I was swaying toward the PS4 but now im thinking XBox One due to it having the better exclusives (for me).

I wouldnt be too concerned about the PS4 being ever so slightly more powerful as i doubt you would notice, i'm sure the PS3 was slightly powerful than the 360 and look what happened there...

You just have to weight it up and think what titles you would enjoy playing.

the ps3 was more powerful than the 360, but was a pig to program for, thankfully the ps4 isnt and sony have gone out of their way to ask devs what they would like in a machine. hence we have what we have now.

I really want to say PS4 but as above I just cannot get on the DS stick layout and I would mainly be buying another console for racers/FPS and Forza 5 is a launch title as opposed to GT which really could be years away.

Still would rather get a PS4, it isn't just 'slightly' more powerful probably about 20% which will start to show in 1080p/60fps games especially things such as BF4 when you have 64 players going at the same time. A huge gigantic noticeable difference no, but developers will have a much easier time stabilising the frame rate with the PS4's extra oomph.

Gah, wish Polyphony had planned for the PS4. Would have made my decision much easier!
