But he was replying to someone saying that a reason they couldn't give up PC gaming was due to all the mods you can get for games. So I'm guessing he just got confused...

Still, you can pirate games on the consoles anyway and I'm sure you will be able to on the next-gen ones. It always happens unfortunately.

No, he wasn't. No post quoted in his reply, and the previous post before his was luggles discussing if Kojima will be using Kinect in a future MGS game. Probably most likely to be commenting on zoomee's post:

PS4 defo first - xbone once 'moddable' - maybe ;)

I assumed he was replying to this one that is just above his post

PC gamer till I die - not that the new consoles look very nice, but when I consider the stagnant gameplay, locked-in market place, lack of Steam-type support, no modding...well, its PC all the way.

It would be a lot easier if people just quoted what they were replying to :p

And I'm annoyed with PS+, it's a great deal getting all those games for £30-40/year but forcing people to pay an irrelevant third party to use their own internet connection is wrong.

They're charging you to use their infrastructure, not your own.

Getting Ps4 on day 1. Love my ps3 and ps+
Only thing I would like on the ps3 is a more slicker responsive operating system

So improvemnt over the ps3
Improved controller
Better Spec
Improved user interface

Top it all off Killzone on day 1 means sony get my money first.

Prob get the xbox1 after a price drop

PS4, probably day one (although there's nothing that interests me at launch), and an XB1 as soon as there's an exclusive that must be played.

I just didn't think it was rocket science to follow :p
I hate piracy in video games so someone openly stating, neigh, gloating about waiting for it, is about as low as it gets with console gaming for me. :)

I have a PS4 on preorder, I think I may cancel and sit back and see what happens. Atleast until we get some diffinitive reviews and of course comparrisons of the conosles.

Agreed. However, after some thought I've come to realise that many of todays game retailers are just as bad as the pirates.... If not worse because theyre allowed to rob from the publishers and developers.

Not really. A games retailer pays a fixed fee to the publisher for the games to sell. The developer has already had its payments.
In regards to the second hand market I'd like publishers to get a percentage but ultimately it's the retailers who take the risk of buying it back, holding it and then selling it on again.

Out of interest, is anyone who would describe themselves as being more on the PS3 side of the fence than 360 this generation primarily looking at an Xbox One?

There is a lot of talk of people moving in the other direction down to price and the perceived power of the PS4 and of course a lot of people staying loyal next generation, interested to know if anyone is moving away from Sony and to Microsoft and if so, why?

As far as I'm concerned the price of using PSN is already paid through buying the console/games. Therefore you're effectively paying a third-party to use your own internet connection.

Uh....

Sony will charge to play games online. You wont be paying to use online services. Thats all

think of it as a mmo sub for servers. but in this case you get games in return.

It is currently paid for that way, yes. Sony have said that the decision to include online play with PS+ is because they want to expand and improve the service, the only way to do that realistically is with more money.

There's a lot I don't like about Xbox Live (primarily that it's used for all online features on the Xbox, whether they're provided by MS or not), but as a service for online play, it's clearly quite robust and very popular. PSN is never going to get to that same level if it remains free.

You're not being charged to use your internet connection by anyone except your ISP. If you don't want to pay, you can still use other online stuff on the console for free, just as you can now.

And that robust online infrastructure is what most people would be happy to pay for particularly if they play a lot of multiplayer. I include myself in that.

That's how I feel. I was :D when they announced they were including it in PS+. 90% of the reason I'm buying a next gen console is to play and chat with my friends during the week when it's less feasible to get together to do something.

I want the online and social side of the PSN to be as good as it can be. Xbox Live was certainly a lot better for chatting and playing online with/against my friends.

And I recently got my next 12 months sub for only £19 so for £1.58 a month for an imprivedo nline service with not too old games for free then it sounds like my sort of thing
