I've just cancelled my PS4 pre-order - can't justify buying both at launch and the Xbox has more of the games I want to play.

Hopefully I don't end up regretting it what with them not being able to guarantee orders now but I don't think I will.
 
just wait till gamescon before you guys start cancelling preorders :) why do you guys think sony has been so quiet, theyre holding back and hopefully we see another e3 knockout :D
 
Maybe it's just me, but I really can't think of a single reason I'd want to spend close to £500 on a console to play one game, when GTA V and Assassins Creed:Black Flag is out.

As much as I'd want a next gen console, it doesn't really appeal to me with too many current gen games coming out at the same time.

I'd agree with that. The games (the most important thing for me) were more impressive on the Xbox One IMO. I'm also hopeful MS will have a really big announcement at Gamescom that'll benefit people buying the console. They know Sony won E3, they're not stupid (despite some evidence to the contrary) and I think they know they need a really strong showing at Gamescom to make sure Sony don't extend their lead.

I've already said I wouldn't be surprised if they have a strong showing of all their best games, then end their conference by announcing a price drop (or on reflection, maybe a bundled game), making the console much more competitive price wise. That would be an excellent conference for them and could easily sway some people back to the console.

I'm a geek and I'm impatient, if I want something I want it now! :D

Besides, it's 6 games for me on the new console, not one, so that'll keep me entertained. I'll still have GTA V on the Xbox 360 as well to keep me going for months on end :)

Totally agree. Which is why I don't plan plan to buy a next gen console during the launch period.

There are still some decent games coming out for this gen.... Gta5, payday2, gran turismo and a few more.
 
I don't think the Xbox One needs a price drop. It's not exactly expensive when you consider what it is. Smartphones, (some)tablets, and PCs cost more and this is expected to last 8-10 years or so.

Sure, I would like a price drop, but not if it means a trade-off on quality or means they further move away from their vision. I like the idea of digital purchases and kinect.

Kind of agree with you. Though it isnt the price that puts me off. I've just preferred the PS brand overall. Thats not to say I dislike MS' offering

I mean my Thrustmaster Wheel cost well over 300.00 lol.

I think the only issue with the price is that the PS4 is so much cheaper. If the PS4 was the same price I don't think many people would be bothered. Like you said, considering what you get out of it, and how long we hope to have it, £430 for the console isn't that bad (especially when you consider what most of us spend on our PCs which only last a few years).
 
Thing is though MS could do the xbox cheaper if they weren't forcing people to buy Kinect. Yes i know we dont have to use it but for example when i buy an xbox one it will be disconnected and never used so them forcing me to buy it is stupid.

If kinect wasn't included i honestly think they could sell it at same price as PS4.

I choose PS4 a) Sony has better exclusives over all imo b) ive always preferd the brand c) Killzone Shadow Fall / Infamous Second Son d)

Now i will get an xbox one but not until its cheaper and halo 5 is out until then it holds no interest to me
