I haven't decided yet. I've only ever bought a console at launch once (PS2) and choices were considerably easier back then.

I'll probably let the dust settle on this DRM/always online nonsense, see how games have matured and find out what my friends own. So maybe a year after launch I'll lay my hard earned down on one.

In the mean time I'll carry on using my 360 and PC.

That would be my concern as well. As a rule I don't buy used games but I do trade in my old games against a new game,which then lowers the price of a new game. What's gonna happen if I can't trade in my old game? Say because I don't have a "selected retailer" near me.
This is one reason why i'm going for a PS4.
 
had ps4 pre-ordered for a while now, not seen anything at e3 to make me change my stance, will perhaps pick up the xbox a couple of years down the line just for killer instinct :D

I know :( It's kinda worrying.

I mean we're all nerds to be fair, some more than others. So we're buying on the back of E3, research and general knowledge available.

That's led from the look of things to a dominating result on this poll.

But at the same time, My facebook has seen little mention of the PS4, and more mention of XboxONE. Obviously my friends list isnt representative of the world, but with Joe Public I still think it's going sell particularly well.

Even with all the strings attached to it.

I just dont want to see the XboxONE fail. Or lose its appeal, hence shortening it's life span. because in the end, i want to enjoy my gaming hobby. So more consoles with decent exclusives are a good thing. Even with strings attached :p

I reckon i'll get both consoles, maybe at launch, depends when that is.

But I do think the games line up for the Xbox One is more impressive, not much in Sony's line up really got me excited.

I showed my son the Project Spark video - he now wants a Xbox One for his room :)

Voted for both....
 
Xbox One for me.
I like Xbox live, the Xbox exclusives (from what's been shown), and the game pad.
I also believe that kinect has potential now that it is always connected, hopefully more developers will take advantage.
 
I have 2 PS3 in the house ....my sons (at uni) and the one we use as a media streamer/BR player ...havent gamed on PS3 properly in years as I prefer Pc gaming .I dont like the PS controller ,the Xbox controller seems easier to use in my opinion but I really don't like the idea of paying £50 for a game AND having to pay again to use the ****er online !

I may buy my son a PS4 as a birthday pressie but I WILL NOT pay to use the bloody thing online..... If the games were half the price then maybe but surely buying the game should entitle you to play online? Thats like buying a house and then paying rent ....

Sorry for the rant but I have bought a lot of games for my boy and I ,like many others im sure , find that £50 quid-ish a game is a lot of money these days.

PS4. Too many of the decisions on Microsofts end around the Xbone don't suit me, it's alright for fanboys to trot out things like "it only has to connect once every 24 hours, what do you live in a 3rd world country" but as someone who frequently takes his console around to a friends house (sans Kinect, of course that no longer flies) and has had the internet go down for multiple days three times this year already I just can't support the console with the policies Microsoft want to put out.
 
PS4 on launch. Possibly Xbox One a fair few years down the line when they are sub £200 just for any exclusives I might want to play.
 
PS4. And appears PS4 is romping ahead in this poll, and for good reason. I hope MS learn from this.

I don't think they'll back track, they'll just spend millions trying to get everyone to accept it. Which is a shame, Forza 5 looked darn good.
 
PS4. Amongst other reasons, I occasionally travel with my console (weekend retreats, hotels, holiday home, GF parent's house etc) and not everywhere I go has wifi so it's a no brainer for me.
