Who here owns a Fiesta ST?

Obviously felt nowhere near as powerful as my Focus :)

Is your Focus remapped? I had a standard Focus ST in the past and the Fiesta really does not feel much if in any slower in my opinion.

The Focus only has 7 more foot pound of torque and 21 more bhp and is a about 200kg heavier.

The mp215 mountune kit for the Fiesta gives it pretty much the same 0-60 and 30-60 in gear times as a the MK3 Focus ST

Yeah it's got an AS induction kit, Airtec FMIC, 3" downpipe, sports cat, 3" mongoose cat back and collins stage one map, est. about 280-290BHP/330LBFT. The ST I drove was a standard one. Felt quite quick but not quite as torquey as this. But bound to be a LOT better on juice etc, cheaper tax and still rapid due to much less weight :)

Been looking again, I think I can get a 14 plate ST-2 minty mint and under 8k for 13k or less deal price, does this seem OK value? From Ford dealers etc.

Got just over 45mpg driving from Dorset to West Sussex (about 130 miles) in my ST today and i certainly wasnt "hypermiling" or anthing. Pretty good, especially considering ive only done just over 1000 miles in it.

Over 45mpg! did you cruse there at 65mph?

I can't even get close to the Evo fast fleet fiestas monthly mpg figure, I'm always 3-5 lower

No, cruise on 70mph most of the way with the odd 40 or 50 stretch. A few full throttle bursts here and there. This was an indicated 45mpg on the dash though so in reality could be a little less.

I reckon i could have got more if i had really baby'd it.

God this thing is good fun.

So torquey as well for such a small engine. 4th gear on full throttle is particularly grin inducing!

Love the sound symposer as well. I like how it barks and growls at you :D

It does just pivot around you in the corners as well. Where my old Octy VRS would just understeer and not let you give it much throttle through a corner, this thing just has loads more turn in than you think and lets you give it a decent amount of throttle even half through a tight turn. Marvellous.

Good stuff :D

Did you get yours with the MP215 upgrade?

I'm planning to have it done on mine at some point this year.

I plan to keep the car for a good while ( cant afford a new car every few years!) so i am going to wait at least a year before getting the MP215 done. I am definitely going to do it though and trying to resist not getting it done straight away ! :D

Well, my MP215 fund has been set back a little:

First world problems :(

Added my new steering wheel today, I think it's finished off the interior nicely although I'm yet to take it for a drive to really try it out.

Have you got a roll cage in there if you have harnesses?

So I'm torn between Goodyear Eagle F1A2s and Conti sport contact 5s on my Mk6 ST, any advices?

I'm going with ContiSport 5s, new reviews on Evo say they're the best tyre at the minute.

Emphatically the best tyre of the group, the Continental headed the tables on four occasions and only twice dropped out of the top three. It was unquestionably a brilliant performance, combining feedback with fantastic grip to give supreme confidence. It’s a worthy winner.
