Who here owns a Fiesta ST?

It's get home safe light timer aint it?

I always click the door handle so it's useless for me as lights go out as soon as it's locked unlike other Fords which keep the lights on ala the Transit Custom Sport Van I've used.

No it is the display brightness adjuster.

Also, If you pull the indicator stick towards you before you go out the lights should stay on for 30 seconds after you lock the car (that is what the manual says anyway)

Goes to show how much i take notice down there. Set everything to auto and leave it! :p

Did turn off my hill assist though as it's god awful!

EDIT - On an unrelated note. I've just realised they do Eagle F1s in 205/40/17 now! Epic!

Anyone ever used Evans Halshaw before? They've got 0% on new Fiesta ST-3's right now, seems to be a good deal overall;

http://www.evanshalshaw.com/brands/ford/ford-new-car-offers/fiesta/fiesta-st-3/low-payment/?utm_source=FordOwnersClub

Drivethedeal still works out a decent amount cheaper, even with the interest.

I tried to get them to match the drivethedeal price AND do the 0% finance but no dice :p.

Also, I would not recommend Evans Halshaw. They took eons to get back to me and when they did the sales woman could barely string a sentence together (her emails were simply embarrassing!). I think even if they were cheapest I wouldn't have gone with them. All seemed very unprofessional. Fortunately my local dealer less than 10 miles away pretty much matched Drivethedeal so it was a no brainer in the end. :D

Cheers, just visited that page and punched in the numbers, seems about a grand can be saved quite easily.

Is drivethedeal essentially a site that cuts out the bartering stage? Can any further discounts be achieved?

Yes. No.

They will put you in touch with a dealer to process your order. I couldn't even get local dealers to match it let alone beat it. I used them for a different car and couldn't fault them.

So...MR230 eh?

Think i'll pass...

I'm sure the Mountune fan boys will be all over it.

Don't get why, it seems massively overpriced and it offers absolutely nothing over the competitor packages which are an awful lot cheaper. Every other previous Mountune package has had a USP in the way of either Ford warranty or bespoke hardware but this has nothing so I don't get why anybody would spend money with Mountune other than to say they have a Mountune pack.

Exactly how i feel about it! It's just too much to stomach and is the territory where I'll just put the money towards something else entirely. I'm tempted by just getting the cat back though as that's just a bolt on and doesn't void the warranty.

It sounds pretty good also!

Doesn't sound like good VFM at all. Ain't read much about alternative packages but they don't seem to be 2k+ to get to 230BHP thats for sure!

Well, 3 weeks into Focus ST ownership and I still think I want a new Fiesta ST... lol might have look into good PX deals again before I waste loads on this thing :D

Have you taken one out for a blast yet? :p

I knew nothing would have scratched the ST itch so had to have one...my only negatives with it are how hard the ride can be on Cornish roads. When you get a good road though...

I've started to look at possibly a 1.6 EcoBoost Focus Zetec S and mountuning it. Seems like nice performance, size and 5 doors!

How the hell do you change the ambient lighting colour?

I've owned my ST-2 for just over a day and most of the time I've spent searching for this button.

Is it an ST-3 only thing or something?

Haha, you can't. You can only do this on the American one.

I wonder how difficult it would be to change the bulbs/smd's on these cars, quite surprised it hasn't been done yet considering how daft the red looks on blue cars for example :D

I have already changed the footwell lights to red led's that match the rest. It looks much better as the yellow footwell lights looked odd with the rest of the ambient lighting.

Changing the rest to a different colour entirely would be a pain in the ass in my opinion. Especially the door card ones as you would have to take the doors apart.

I think the footwells are colour matched on the american version as well so not sure why they are just normal yellow bulbs in the UK (maybe a stupid EU rule)

Question to anyone who's flushed PAS fluid on a mk6.

Is it best to keep the pump going until the system is completely empty and then top up or to drain a bit then add a bit more and repeat.

Don't want to keep contaminating the new fluid with rubbish old stuff if I'm doing it the top up way but am worried running it dry could cause damage to the pump?

you should never run it dry, so yes keep topping it up.

My method was to jack the front wheels off the ground and turn the steering wheel so the pump didn't run at all during the process.

Yeah the garage who did mine did as above, same for my Focus I've just had done too. Pipe off turn the wheel lock to lock slowly to get the old fluid out and keep adding new fluid until it's clear so the rack didn't run empty/dry. Obvs pump running when new fluid added to pump it all through.

Logsi, yeah I've taken a MK7 out, quite a nice drive. Obviously felt nowhere near as powerful as my Focus so it'd be nice to try a mountuned one or even further tuned but save loads on fuel at least :D Probably more fun on a twisty road but this Focus is a stable car at speed which is handy when pressing on good B roads etc. But I'd still definitely swap it for a MK7 for the right money :)
