Who here owns a Fiesta ST?

I bought a ST a while back, fixed it up and sold it on. Mrs really wanted it but being white, i wanted to sell it on due to the premium on them.

Went to look at a blue one yesterday for her. Guy said it was a perfect example, runs like a dream.

Straight away i roll up to his driveway and the car is covered in thick mud.... Right ok, he lives in the middle of nowhere so ill see past that for now. Take it for a test drive, before i even got off the driveway the car made a massive metallic "clunk".

I get out and inspect it. Coil spring was fractured, wheel bearing/Hub was on its last legs (could literally moved the wheel in and out by about 1cm each way) and to top it off i then noticed the wheels are 90% corroded once i scraped some mud off of them.

Some people really just do not care do they lol... Feel for the poor buggers who fall for these kind of sales.

Not at present, still undecided on a cage as it's quite a commitment welding in the car :D

Was always under the impression that having harnesses with no roll cage is a bad idea as you'd be pinned into some really awesome spine compression if you ever rolled it!

No more real chance of compressing your spine than with normal belts and no cage tbh. The main reasoning behind that thinking is that you can't duck down into the seat much with harnesses, however if you're in a roll the g-force would be pinning you back in the seat anyway and your regular belt would lock into place so you'd have the same amount of movement as a harness.

At least with a harness you have shoulder support pulling you into the seat so if the car ends up on its roof it will help to prevent you from hitting the roof.

Missus can get cars at cost (+pdi and £100 notes) through her work - but not found out yet who to ask what the "cost" price is? Anyone have an idea roughly what i could be looking at for st-3 with style pack and parking sensors in frozen white?
I appreciate its a random question but just trying to get an idea if it could be a good deal??
Ive never bought a brand new car in my life but i will do if its too good a deal not to? She gets used cars at Trade in value + £100 so i may wait if thats maybe better 3 months down the line... got the itch for st now... need to scratch!

We have got another ST to join the family :)

was up for 3k, got him down to £2.5k. (its my charm :p)

2007, 3 owners (last owner 4 years), 80k miles, service history, 12 months MOT, 4 new tyres (cheapo's though), 4 new centre caps and fully HPI clear. Absolute bargain, normally go for around £3.5k+ at this age and condition.

One of the seat tilt handles was snapped.

Got a new one. Followed a step by step guide which was about 4 simple steps... Broke it. realised after breaking it i was given a RH rather than a LH (didn't know there was a LH and RH part).

Seat now has no tilt handle at all. One way to waste £25...

Ford.

I just can't get over how fun these are to drive. Definitely the most grin inducing car I have driven.

It has so much front end grip and "turn in" on corners and you can really floor it out of bends and it straightens out really nicely. B roads have never been so fun!

totally grin inducing.

Nice one milky! MP215? Is that something to do with mountune? Or something from factory? Not too clued on the new fiestas.

Will have to have a catch up again. Not seen how the new fiesta goes yet.
