Who here owns a Fiesta ST?

Hey guys, some of you may have seen my thread about which colour to buy my new Fiesta in over the last week or so. Anyways, finally got my Fiesta and absolutely loving it.

However noticed that sometimes after a bit of spirited lead foot on the gas that I can smell a burning-like smell?

Is this normal for a new car/turbo? First brand new car and car with a turbo so a little out my depth here. Must add I've not been hammering it either, just a quick blast on the noise pedal here and there.

Is it brand new? I have noticed this on mine sometimes. Was most noticeable when I first drove it home but I put it down to it being brand new. Can't say I have really worried about it.

Yeah its brand new, got about 60 miles on the clock as of tonight.

I figured it would probably be nothing to worry about but just thought to double check.

Yeh I wouldn't worry, mine really stunk when I first got it. Thinks its everything bedding in and probably some oils/lubricants used in the manufacturing process burning off.

Enjoy the car! I know I am :D. Never had so much fun going round corners :p.

Hey all,

I am looking for some advice from you knowledgable people in here. I am looking at getting a Fiesta ST (MK6) and wondered if you could give me any advice on the pro's/con's of such a motor and what to look out for.

Now, I currently own a Mondeo ST Tdci, which I purchased for work as I was travelling a lot. Basically now, I have no need to travel anymore so its not getting much use and I really don't need such a big car any longer. Had it nearly 4 years.

Now a few years back I used to own a Fiesta Mk5 Zetec S which I really enjoyed, great little motor at the time.

From reading up and seeing whats around they seem like fairly simple cars in terms of maintenance, parts etc. Pretty sure I read its the 2 litre petrol engine from a Mondeo in there, seem to get solid reviews and they seem very reliable also. Would you guys that own or did own them agree with that?

What's your budget? I don't think u will be able to live with the plastic rattly interior of a mk6 Fiesta coming from the Mondeo. Why don't u get the Mondeo ST220 it's faster than the Fiesta mk6 ST as mentioned above.

I just don't need a car that size really any more and I assume 220 would be pretty heavy on fuel. I used to have a Jag X Type 3litre v6 (same as 220 i think) and whilst nice drank plenty.

Guys quick question for those of you with mk7's.

Gonna buy an iPod to leave in the car with all my music on rather than using my CD's.

Does it connect to the car via the USB lead or the aux/headphone socket thing or both?

ALSO, how the heck do I find Kerrang on the DAB radio?

The manual says USB is needed for apple products (or general USB media) but as a plus it will charge the device at the same time.

Android devices can stream audio via Bluetooth. There is also a general aux socket too for general audio input.

All 3 inputs are cycled through by repeatedly pressing the aux selection key on the stereo.

No idea on the DAB setup, I can't fathom it at all!!

Bit of an odd one here with my ST150:

Using the door or remote I can lock both doors, but when I come to unlock the car only the drivers side opens. I can manually unlock the passenger side from inside though.

I'm thinking it must be something I've done since like a dead lock or similar since it will lock but not unlock.

Any ideas?

I have an iPod plugged in via USB. Car recognises it and shows the track that is playing on the display.
Only trouble I have is the sound is sometimes 'choppy'. Have to turn stereo off and on a few times to fix it.

I had something similar on my Mk7 ST with keyless entry. Turned out the boot wasn't shut properly. Just opened and closed the boot and all worked fine again. Worth a go!

Going to look to buy one of these tomorrow, its a 2007 model with 90k on the clock. Looks in really good condition but is there anything i should be looking out for?

The cars totally standard and has some service history, its advertised for £2700 but hoping to get it for a bit less than that depending on condition.
