Who here owns a Fiesta ST?

Heard contrasting reports about the springs. Some say it improves the every day ride and some say it does not.

I will be spending out on replacing all the speakers with decent ones aswell as an underseat sub and a good amp. I dont want mega loud just decent quality music.
Will keep head unit standard though.

Picked mine up yesterday morning and loving the car so far.

Bought private sale
ST-2 March 2015
1,900 miles
Frozen White
No optional extras
£13,500

Looked back at the car parked up at work after collection and had to take a pic - one of those just bought a new car moments :)

Looking good! Not usually keen on white but it suits the ST quite well I think.

Is that without the style pack? Quite a rare sight! I almost ordered mine without it as I prefer the lighter silver alloys but when the car the dealer was going to reserve the one he was going to for me, it had been taken the following morning they could only find one with the spec I wanted with the style pack so they chucked it in for free!

It is a shame there was no option to have the silver alloys but still keep the red callipers and illuminated scuff plates.

Anyone have any experience of different tyres on the new ST?

Coming up to 10,000 miles in mine now and i reckon the fronts will need doing by Christmas or just before and would like to get them done before the winter sets in properly i reckon.

Have seen a good deal for Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2's fitted at £86 a corner and i quite liked them when i had them on my Octy VRS.

Anyone else running Eagles or anyone have any recommendations on what they think are the best for the car? Maybe it would be best to just put the same Bridgestones on again but i have read on a few forums that people don't really rate the Bridgestones that well so i am tempted to start moving to something else.

Good price that ceaton88. I think I am going to buy one in March, private sale if I can get as new and low mile a car as that! Gonna sell my Focus soon and get a winter hack I think :)

Jono how well do the Bridgestones fair for yourself? If you feel they're not good enough for how you drive then look elsewhere I guess :)

Got a 2005 ST. She's had a few upgrades and when last tested two years ago she was putting out 192BHP compared to the then standard 150.

Bit bored of it now but it's perfect for city driving.

Getting the MP215 upgrade, plus engine roll restrictor fitted in a couple of weeks. Already fitted the quickshift mod myself (well worth doing!) :)

So MK7 ST experts. Are there any known issues which are common and expensive now the older cars are coming towards the end of their warranties?

I am aiming to buy a 1 year old car (preferably MP215'd) after winter and want to prepare for the future, but the main aim of buying one is hassle free motoring with warranty and still having a lot of fun. I haven't got the time or patience to wait for something big to go wrong with my Focus, I work long hours and I've been without it one day so far this week and it affects my working day nevermind social life. I like the idea of return to dealer, courtesy car, collect when done.

For example with my car the oil filter housing diaphragm has just failed, one of the common issues... other potentials include driveshafts, clutch with it being mapped which means dual mass and RS clutch setup circa 1k fitted, the potential of cracked liners etc etc... it's at the age/time it needs all fluids changing... I may as well chuck this money I spend monthly at a new car with warranty, probably save money ultimately! :D And not have to worry so much.

I'm not aware of any particular issues with them, there's a fiestastoc forum where you'll be able to get more information, but if you are looking at a year old one, you might want to consider just getting a brand new one. You can get one brand new from Drivethedeal for not much more than the cost of a used one with some pretty good finance deals. I'm on a cashplan where I paid an upfront deposit, no monthly payments, and then an optional final payment after 2 years to keep the car, the deposit contribution from Ford is greater than the interest paid on that making it cheaper than paying cash.

You can then get the extended 5 year 100,000 mile Ford Protect warranty and you'll be set for a good while - it's only £260 for the extended warranty so a no brainer really.

Hi

Whats the best way to clean the heated seats in the Fiesta? some APC and a soft brush or ??

No idea, Im still yet to clean my interior since picking it up in May!

Outside has only been washed once too, am I sinning?

Depends how soiled they are. Start with something mild and work your way up, APC is pretty harsh so start with a generic spray interior shampoo and a soft valet brush first.

Any thoughts on which screen and dash wipes are any good? Nothing really grubby inside but want to get some to chuck into the glove box just in case.
*For a current 2015 ST*

Are there mechanical differences on 2015 cars? I read something about a lower rev limit but a hard cut rev limiter on 2015 cars?

Joesmith thats a bargain warranty wise... can that be purchased for a "nearly new" car also?

If you just want to wipe off dust then use a clean, good quality microfibre.

That has been something reported on the newer cars, lower rev limiter and less boost pressure. Not sure if the boost issue was down to a loose hose though. Not heard anything about type of rev limiter being different either.

There aren't any major common issues, interior can rattle etc but as far as reliability goes, things are solid.

As you probably know, you're stuck with the MP215 kit if you want to keep warranty. Didn't you test drive one of these and you didn't feel it was quick enough?

Only difference on the 2015 cars as far as I'm aware (called the 2016 model, introduced in September) is the new rear lights cluster which has LED lighting. Not sure what the rev limiter is set to, haven't got close to it yet as still letting my engine burn in (around 300 miles on it atm). Red line is 6500-7000rpm-ish.

Warranty wise, you can only purchase the Ford Protect 5 year warranty up until the first day of registration, so unfortunately can't get it on a nearly new one.
