Who here owns a Fiesta ST?

Yes with Greenlight it isn't an issue. They just add the Mp215 kit as a mod.

But they were saying be careful with other insurers as the ABI code for the MP215 is technically for when the MP215 kit was fitted to the car from new. However, it is technically always going to be fitted after the car has come from the factory isn't it?

What I am questioning is whether this is correct or if Greenlight are just saying that to get my business.
 
Contacted Mountune as they should know as they will be the ones involved in setting the ABI code and they said:

"You should insure the car using the revised model name - ref attached.

Whoever from Greenlight said that is mistaken - as you know Fiesta's don't come from the factory with MP215 upgrade fitted.

Fitted a blanking plug to the symposer intake pipe and deleted the symposer itself today. Grabbed a plug off eBay and it was quite a weighty thing. Also put a plastic bung on the pipe the goes to the cabin.

The drone has gone which is great. Almost like driving a different car when cruising now. Will see how i feel about it when pushing on with the sound now decreased. It's nice hearing the exhaust properly now. Can also hear the intake better also.
 
What do people think about the ST200 then?

I like the lot bar the wheels, can't make my mind up about the silver edges. Those seats are much nicer with the dark grey centres, I like the red and white stitching on them as well.

Wonder what deals people will get on them...
 
I dont think there will be any deals at all. There is only 400 being sold in the UK so they will more than likely all be sold at list

I need some advice on a potential new car. I have settled on a small hot hatch and I am down to two cars.

Fiesta ST-3 and the Peugeot 208 GTi Prestige.

Fiesta is cheaper but the Peugeot is better specced. Fiesta has 28 bhp less but has the MP215 pack for just £650.

Drive the deal have the ST-3 for £15,600 with the Style pack and I can get the GTi for £18,000 with maxed out options.

Has anyone driven both? Can anyone offer any advice if they were in the market and buying new?

Not sure what BHP the GTI is but the standard ST has 200ps with overboost. It's marketed as 180ps due to the 200ps not being permanent.

I would take both out and see what you prefer. I can't give an opinion on what you should buy as I'm bias. The ST won the Top Gear car of the year and multiple shootouts between hot hatches. :)

Whenever i see a 208 GTI i always wonder why the person didn't buy a ST.

I looked at both and went for the ST in the end.

I didnt think the 208 was better spec'd really. One had some things the other didnt and vice versa. From memory the 208 prestige had cornering fogs and a panaromic roof, but not keyless enrty and start for example.

Interior dash was a bit nicer in the Peugoet but the steering wheel was weirdly small, the seats were not as nice or as nice looking, and the pointlessly small glovebox was stupid.

Also found the screen to have too much glare in the sun. Prefered the ST's inclosed (albeit smaller) sat nav screen.

Also, the ST is 200bhp really it just cant be marketed as such.

As you say, you can have 215bhp with the MP215 kit anyway.

The lease on my Black ST3 MP215 is up soon.

So I am swapping it for a brand new Blue ST3 on Thursday! Hopefully will be taking it to Stoneacre's in York next week to get the MP215 and Cat back exhaust installed.

Brilliant cars!
