Who here owns a Fiesta ST?

Thought it's 6.7 seconds? According to Autocar

Yes it is 6.7. my bad! I miss read it :p don't see the point might aswell get the standard ST and get the Mountune on it. I'm sure that would take the standard ST to the same 6.7 seconds from standard 6.9.

Yeah I think so. Only engine really worth having in the range though isn't it? I quite liked mine but it wasn't very exciting. It was just a bit mehhh :)

Only a 20 minute hoon for me :D Good price though, the MP215 kit is surely a prerequisite I take it?

The air box is but that's it from the MP215.

For the MR230 you need intercooler, silicone boost pipes, sports cat, cat back then the cam timing and map done via the mTune which they force you to buy. I have no use for the mTune hand set...

Seems incredibly pointless, especially since it's supposed to be a limited 'special edition' sort of thing. As I understand it, there are no handling/braking improvements over the regular ST. The press release lists things that are common in all ST's over the standard fiesta, so it really is just a power hike that people can get far cheaper and a horrible colour :p

The m-sport version looks far better value with a diff and suspension upgrade, etc.

Saying that though I didn't really notice much difference with it...

It does pull better at higher revs though.

Got quoted £599 fitted for MP215 at Dinnages Brighton the other day when I booked my service. That's £549 when you get cash back from the Mountune offer. Cheapest I've seen tbh.

But still - I don't have £500 knocking about for something that won't really alter my driving experience that much. If I had the cash it would be a no brainer.

Had the MR230 completed on my car today with the final bits being done. The cam timing and map. Got up bright and early (still dark though) and left to go to Tarnock Garage near Cheddar, it was the closest Mountune Pro dealer. The fine fellows there were great, really welcoming and made me feel at home which was great. Not really used to that as the dealers down here are awful. Given a courtesy car and ventured into the surrounding sights to pass the hours.

Received a call and was told the car was ready so popped back and headed on my way home. Initially i was a bit non plussed about the map and cam timing. It didn't seem that different whilst i travelled back home nearly 3 hours down the M5 and A30. I wasn't expecting that much really and tried to not get sucked into the hype like i did with the MP215 as i never really felt like there was much difference in it but i just didn't feel like there was that much difference yet again...it was another "Has it been mapped/fitted?" moments...

I had a cuppa then went out in the car again properly. Not just cruising down dual carriageways...this is where my opinion changes. It's crazy now. The torque limiting or lack of in the lower gears has totally changed the way the car pulls and the limiter being raised is just ballistic. It feels like an NA car that just wants to rev and rev and rev...Even though i had most of the upgrade fitted before the final cam timing and map loaded it didn't rev like this or sound like it does now. I love the way it pulls and the revvy sound is addictive like an NA car.

I shall investigate further over the weekend but currently I'm happy. It seems like a bigger upgrade over the MP215 though that's for sure. Is it worth the cash? Debatable. Does it reinvigorate a car i love. Absolutely.

Why don't i ever get these prices?

I contacted all the dealers around me (same area as you) and the cheapest i got was £638 at littlehampton Cuff Millers. Dinnages wanted £680 and would not budge.

Also, there was a guy who got quoted £599 fitted at Hendy's on FiestastOC but when i contacted them they said £680 and the £599 price is without fitting, despite quoting they had offered it to someone else for £599. They simply would not budge.

This was asking them all to pricematch Stoneacre York as well which is the lowest price out there at £599.

Did Dinnages just offer it to you for £599 straight off the bat as that seems very unlikely?
