Who here owns a Fiesta ST?

Only been out for 20 minutes in the dark and rain so hopefully it's a bit dryer this weekend and I can give it a good run.

I know what you mean about going peron or Collins though. It does make more sense bang for buck but I just feel I want to stay within the Ford/mountune fold. As I've said on the OC, if I'm going to void my warranty then I'd rather it be with a company who works in conjunction with Ford. That's not to say Peron and Collins do good work though.

Not sure if I'll go stage 3 but saying that I did say I'd never go stage 2...

Must not buy a hybrid turbo... D:

I really don't think it needs it. Seems like it would just be too ridiculous. LSD next and then keep the thing forever.

i cant get the power down with 230-240 bhp so yeh, Stage 2 and LSD rather than Stage3 and no LSD for me.

Come Mountune 12 Days of Christmas this year and I'll hopefully be in the position to get the Quaife.

Refresh my memory. What are you running at the moment Adam? I know you couldn't wait any longer for mountune but where did you go?

I went Peron in the end. Charlie (the owner) was most helpful. Mountune just ignored my emails. By the end of the year (1st MOT) i need to get a sports cat though, as im currently... err decatted. :o

Not done much to it since because i haven't really had the money spare. Id like to get a tube and fin Intercooler (Peron or Mountune) and a LSD next. And yeh ill be at Cars and Coffee most likely.

I've got a Quaife LSD fitted. Once you turn the traction control completely off the LSD completely transforms the car. It bites into corners harder and the grip never seems to end. Was great round Brands Hatch. :)

Must have Stage 3... Hngggggggg

Is traction improved in all situations overall?

I heard the torque vectoring complimented the LSD, but from the sounds of it it's best to switch it off?

I'll be getting an LSD next, hopefully a deal will be up at Cars and Coffee. I had thought about changing the final drive when the box is out, but I don't think there would be much need with the amount of torque we have.

Then onto Stage 3 when it's out.

it was the best mod i did on the Mk6, and i did a lot of mods on it :)

What are you getting with the Peron Stage 1 map Adam? Is this where I get buyers remorse as you're getting the same as me with just an air filter and map? :p

What did you enquire to mountune about that they didn't reply with?

When's cars and coffee, would be cool to make it up but going to essex is quite a way from here...especially in a back breaking ST...

Now I'm MR230 I'm looking at a set of Bilstein B14's. I had the B12's on my old MK6 which I loved, I just hope the B14's are just as good!

Today has left me entirely confused as to what to do with insurance for the MP215 kit.

I always thought the car can just be insured as the 'MP215 upgrade' version (as it has it's own ABI code) once the kit is installed but I have been getting conflicting information from a few places. Greenlight, who I spoke with today, said to be careful as they said technically this means the car must have come from the factory as a 215 upgrade car ( ie so it is not modified from new).

However, as far as I knew none of them will come from the factory with the MP215 kit, as the upgrade will always have to be added by a Ford/Mountune dealer so they will all have technically been modified. Yes, it could be done before you collect the car, but I didn't think the car would be registered differently if it had the MP215 kit ( has anyone had the Mp215 fitted from new and had the car registered differently)?

I don't know what to do now as technically the cheapest quote I have had from AXA ( using the MP215 ABI code) is £45 cheaper than Greenlight. So obviously I would prefer to go with the cheaper option but I don't want them to turn around and say "ah we can't pay out as your car wasn't a mp215 car from the factory (which would be impossible anyway)" or "you car is not registered as a MP215 version".

I know I could call AXA but lets face it, whoever I talk to is likely not to have a clue what I am talking about.

****** insurance.

I wouldn't go with AXA at all. They are a no mods at all company so i wouldn't risk it. Get it with Greenlight and enjoy the benefits they provide.

When i just had the MP215 i insured it as so with the ABI code with Elephant.

Tried ringing up any other specialist insurers such as Chris Knott? I'm with them currently, but with the current Mountune cashback deal I'm really tempted to get the MP215 kit fitted before the end of March but haven't asked them how much extra it would cost yet.

But that presumably would be fine with AXA. I know they are a no mod company but if you have declared it as the 215 ST and they have been happy to insure then I wouldn't have thought it would be a problem.

Its just this "needs to be a mp215 from new" thing that worries me. But are mp215 fitted cars registered as such on the reg document from new? I would find that unlikely.
