Who here owns a Fiesta ST?

How much did you sell your ST for. Im looking to sell mine as I need something thats going to be more economical as Im looking to be doing more mileage soon.

Im hoping to get £4000 for mine including all the mods and standard parts.

Anywho, how can you say the Fiesta felt slow. To me you dont know what slow is unless youve drove a BMW Mini One with 90bhp. Everytime I drive my girlfriends and then jump back into my ST I think to myself. How slow and dangerous is that Mini. Thank God my ST is quick.

Does anyknow know the size of the thread on a drop link? Need to replace the nuts on mine and can't decide whether it's 10mm or 12mm.

Sold mine cheap £2750.

To be fair I am driving about in a 1.6 mini cooper and it is not far off the fiesta on pace.... Just no torque at all, useless going up hills lol. Feels like I'm back in my Honda :p

Sun was out so gave my car a clean and took some photos whilst I was out and about.

Your photo's make me want to paint my calipers, they are looking quite tatty on mine. Both our cars looks very similar and I'm leaning towards silver calipers, what do people reckon?

You on Eibachs or coilovers maj?

Car looks very nice.

I have a receipt from the previous owner where they had 4 new coil springs fitted at a Ford garage. Receipt says previous owner supplied the coils and I don't have any further information on them.

What paint do I need to paint the front grill? And is it an easy job?

Plastidip is the favourite at the moment for paiting the plastics, you can buy it online mate. Very easy to use and comes in a spray can.

Thanks will have a look on their website. I take it Eibachs are the springs to go for then?

Sold mine cheap £2750.

The way the price of these has dropped over the past 12 months is why I havent chopped mine in. Mine may be Mountune'd, with a load of other quality mods (quiafe diff, coilovers, polybushed etc), FSH and its only done 25k miles, but its a 2006 plate and the prices have gone through the floor.

I really fancy a change to a Focus ST if I could actually get £5k ish for my car, but I can't see a garage giving me that as a trade in, and I can't help but feel letting it go for less is mad given what I've spent on it.

I may be over-valuing my car to some minds, but I think of it like this - if I took the low trade in a garage would offer me, that money wouldn't be enough to allow me to buy a car that'd be any better, so I may as well keep it. Unless anyone else wants to find me a better car for 4 grand or so that I'd get for mine! If you can't do better for the £4k they'd offer for mine...then the price isn't right for me.

And by better I mean its got to beat 200bhp, gotta have an LSD, full history, similar running costs, FFSH and 25k miles...can't see me bettering that for £4k or so, so I'll keep mine and run it into the ground or turn it into a track toy some point down the road...

its the main reason im keeping put. The car has lost so much value over the last 6-12months that i cannot see myself ever selling it. The mods alone cost £3-4k, yet i would struggle to sell it for £2.5k i reckon. I know mods never increase the value of a car but to sell at £2.5k would KILL me inside.

Strip and sell? Providing you still have standard parts?

Works for some bits but not others - things like swapping the diff out is just way too labour intensive! The mountune kit is not transferable either, in as much as mountune won't let anyone have the engine map fitted to a car other than the one the kit was originally fitted to.

My clutch is making a funny noise when Im in first gear/reverse either pulling away or reversing, Im not even sure it is the clutch but its very annoying whatever the heck is is.

I also lost one of my alloy caps, im sure it cant have worked its way loose so somebody has probably pinched it off.

Mine look okay in photos but when you get really close to them you can see that they need a good clean and a fresh coat of paint. Don't know of any places in my area that would do that for me though. Would you be doing yours yourself? My choice will always be red whilst I have this car as they really stand out against the black rims.

I think £5k private easily, I'd certainly be interested anyhow! 2 of my mates have just bought bog standard blue ones for £6500. One was 57 plate with full leather, climate and 40k miles. Other one base spec 58 plate with 50k miles.

£5k for one with well chosen mods, very low miles and only slightly older seems a bargain.

Would probably just do it myself with a tin of Hammerite :p Thing is I'd want to remove the caliper and paint it properly and I just don't have the patience, a job for the summer I think...
