Who here owns a Fiesta ST?

You could have a blue ST MR200 with proper modified spec (upgraded clutch, Quiafe diff, coilovers, rear arb, polybushes, 300mm brake conversion, alpine double din head unit etc) for £6500 though ;).

06 plate with Full Ford service history, 27k miles...

I'm up for selling if the price is right...wouldnt think of changing for say a £4k trade in offer, but I feel to an enthusiast my car is worth £6500.

I had a chap knock on my door last week, all excited, saying he lived round the corner and was picking up an MR200 car at the weekend, and had never noticed mine before. The MR200 kit is rare, less than 100 cars in the country with the inlet, so to have two within half a mile is quite unusual! I chatted to him for a bit and it turned out he was paying £8k for an 08 plate MR200 car with lesser spec and higher mileage than mine . I was mildly shocked, and the chap was a bit gutted when I said he could have had mine for £7k :D. If he hadnt already paid the bloke I think I'd have sold mine then and there!

As for the justification....I am likely to be changing job roles fairly soon as wel, possibly meaning more time on the road (stop start traffic where the helix clutch is somewhat interesting) and probably parking up in some not so nice areas when out and about....turning up in a bright blue ST popping and banging does not necessarily give the right impression when visiting businesses, apart from which I think it will get vandalised leaving it where it is likely to be parked up...it gets a surprising amount of attention, sadly not always of the best kind, I think a lot of it is due to the noise :D

I do long for a more refined and comfortable car at times, and I can insure some faster cars much more easily now I'm 26 and built up some NCB...so if the price is right, I'd sell up. What I'd buy next depends on what happens with my job....S2000 or 350z or Focus ST if it stays the same, otherwise something a bit more 'Q' like a Subaru Legacy Spec B that blends in but still has grunt on tap when I fancy going out for a blast :)

Is £485 (including courier from Northern Ireland) a good price for a Milltek non-res cat back, and 4-1 manifold?

Has anyone secured their side skirts, bumpers and spoiler to help prevent theft?

Cheers,
Adam.

my front bumper is bolted on rather than clipped on now, so shouldnt be removeable. Its also screwed on in a few places.

The front plastics are also screwed on so they cant be removed, although the people robbing them in Basildon have recently been arrested.

Spoiler theres not much you can do other than bond it to the car so it wont ever come off.

skirts you could use some self tapers into which ive seen done.

What type of bolts did you use, and where did you put them?

Looking to get mine secured tomorrow. :)

Cheers,
Adam.

There any difference between the Milltek and Mongoose flexi pipes? Apart from the Mongoose being cheaper?

The Miltek is a 60mm bore whereas the Mongoose is 57mm. For reference, the standard is 42mm.

Quick look on a popular auction site:

Miltek - £135 delivered
Mongoose - £110 delivered

Depends if you want that extra 3mm

The standard bumper is held on by 3 screws into each wing. These go into what are basically those little plugs you put into holes on the wall before screwing in something. They are USELESS. From this next picture you can see the plug just rips through the wings:

So instead of reusing them, i used nuts bolts and washers. I cant remember the size, i think they was 6mm or 8mm. Bolt, washer, bumper, wing, washer then nut (put locktight or get a lock nut or whatever they are called). This pic shows how someone else done it, obviously without the wing.

Its fiddly, and you will need to remove the head lights, front wheels and arch liners too! But its worth it knowing the bumper wont come away easy.

In other news i got some of those adjustable drop links through today that Jam0r put up a few weeks ago. Look great, hopefully get them on now ;)

Going to need new brakes soon, so might as well put some up-rated ones on there, but I don't want to go for a 300mm upgrade.

What discs/pads would you recommend?

I've heard people recommend green, red and yellow stuff, plus a few others for pads and both grooved and drilled for discs of various makes! Argh!

Armster Armrest ordered for mine this morning. Looking forward to getting it installed, should make it a fair bit comfier :)

Had a play with some carbon wrap aswell on my dash, the bumps are where the release keys go into the headunit and it's scratched, going to sand the bumps down and re-wrap that bit but I'm well chuffed with it, especially for my first time wrapping something :)

Awesome, cheers Overlag.

EDIT:

Secured the front bumper with bolts, washers and lock nuts today.

Also swapped the screws on the fog light surrounds with a nut/bolt.

I was thinking about bonding the spoiler on, but I would rather them remove it easily instead of bending the top of my boot aswel! lol.

Are the side skirts commonly nicked? I know the jack covers are.

Cheers,
Adam.
