Who here owns a Fiesta ST?

What's the easiest way of getting a red elbow for my K&N? Can you buy pipes that are an exact fit from somewhere?

Also recently fitted my OMP strut brace but I can no longer unscrew the cap for the brake and clutch fluid. Anyone else had this problem?

I'm also looking into getting red colour HT leads like these but it seems they are designed for racing engines. Would putting them on a standard ST150 engine cause problems?
Mine sits like this: http://i50.tinypic.com/1mdsk.jpg

I can easily get the cap off just apply a slight bit of downward pressure to it to pull it away from the strut. As for the leads, they should be fine.

To gloss black or carbon wrap my centre console? Want to blend in my radio, what do you think? http://i49.tinypic.com/30avwvp.jpg

See, I wouldn't have called 15bhp large. Shows what I know.

It isn't, but the mountune kits make the power delivery very different depending on how you like it. For example many users find low down torque much improved from the 165 kit and smoother delivery, where as the MR200 setup really takes off at higher RPM.

Steameh you're being woefully optimistic if you're thinking the FST is going to be above 31mpg btw, driving like a granny I just hit 32 this tank, normal driving with a bit of welly here and there will see ~27.

I can get up to 32mpg on a run (such as Wolverhampton to Steyning which is near Brighton, so a good 185 miles, this was doing an average of 61mph across the whole journey...which is actually pretty quick as an average given the urban roads at the start of the trip to get onto the M5, and the NSL roads with bends near Steyning).

Around town though I get about 27mpg. Although my car has the Mountune 200 kit...its not really noticably worse on fuel than a standard car, unless you absolutely cane it. I think Overlag has managed sub-15mpg on a track day in his :D

Maj, strut braces do cause that problem, I can still get mine off though, just a bit harder. The leads will be fine on any engine.

Will my record was 13mpg on mp185 at brands hatch... My last trackday at snetterton with mr200 was great. The drive there I got 43mpg, on track I got 15mpg :D

Jesus, £1500 for 15bhp. Don't think I'll bother haha.

It's a NA car, it will cost a lot to get power increases. 185 is only a few 100 more than 165 which makes it the better option IMO. Cams and valve springs for a extra £500. £2k for 35bhp isn't that bad but obviously on a turbo car it would gain you far more.

Speaking of Mountune 165, a new member to the yellow badge club, I will leave this here, ;)

Looking to sell my mrs Fiesta ST in the coming weeks. What's it likely to be worth?

It's a 2007/07 facelift in red with side stripes. It's in really good condition with extras such as leather heated seats, parking sensors, traction control (ESP?), heated folder mirrors, home safe lighting etc.

Just been serviced with a full MOT where she had new pads all round.

The majority on Pistonheads seem to be around the 4,000 - 5,000 mark with the nicer examples pushing mid to high 6,000.

You have quite a few options so I would have thought low 6,000 would be a good starting point maybe?

I hate you.

:p

Good man, enjoying it?

I know there's been talk of how much it costs earlier in the thread, it doesn't seem like a lot of gain for the money. I did have that doubt in the back of my mind, but once I put my foot down, I realised it was money well spent. The sound of the induction and exhaust is absolutely amazing, pops and bangs on overrun and it's quiet when you want it to be, it roars when you don't.

The car is so much better and easier to drive, it surges forward with the increase in torque, it's as if theres a bigger engine under the bonnet (that may sound hard to believe - you will just have to take my word on it). Would I recommend it? Absolutely.

How much did it set you back including fitting if you don't mind me asking?

Thats what my problem is, trying to justify why i LOVE MR200 over MP185 is hard, when between 4000-6500rpm MP185 is absolutely mental and will catch lots of cars out. However MR200 brings back the torque that was lacking since adding the cams. I can now accelerate far far far easier from 2000rpm than with MP185, with that you ideally needed to down change to get some more RPM's before accelerating. The extra torque of MR200 is great, even though a small bit of me misses that surge at 5000-6500, but i guess that was only there because before 5000rpm, MP185 was rather "slow" if you could call it that.

MP165 has bags loads of torque and wont need to be ragged to be fast, same as MR200.

Far too many numbers in this post!

In other news, i repainted my front plastics last week, and also painted my strut brace ford "signal yellow" which is a good match to mountune color... However tonight i hit a fox and now my grill is all busted... :/

Total inc fitting was £1550, which was the cheapest by around £200.

I can understand the appeal really, the MP165 is very quick to about 70-80mph (third gear is mental now on this kit) but after that it starts to run out of steam, I guess this is where the 185 takes over. Low down there should be nothing between the two (as shown by the 0-60 figures). Next year may see me miss the 185 entirely and go for the 200 as I think I would miss the torque.
