Who here owns a Mini?

No it’s on my list of things to get along with something for the black trim as it looks a lot more faded and patchy than in the photo.
I use the Carpro perl for the blacks, unless anyone has anything they think its better. As much as I love driving my car I absolute hate the amount of black plastic on the exterior. I don't think I'd get another that had it. I'd pay more to have a better quality finished car.

I've had mine 4 months now, the cruise control switches are absolute **** and the plastics are my only two real negatives.

I’ll probably be buying Solution Finish, it’s pretty permanent so it won’t need doing often

I completely agree, ours looked great for about a year from new and since then it's been difficult to keep the trim looking acceptable.

Mine's a 2016 car and then plastic trim is still in a decent state. I actually found Turtle Wax flex wax to give a nice sheen to the plastics and make it water repellant. Best thing I've used so far for trim in my 5th year of MINI ownership.

I would link a picture but seems the forum has taken away being able to host from Google drive.

Do you dilute it at all? When I picked my car up they warned me about using the premix stuff but I wasn't paying that much attention.

1:2 dilution for -12C from what I can gather and 1:3 should be good for around -5C ish

And at those dilutions it's comparable price wise to other brands (but obviously without the risk of blocked washers and a ~£100 charge if you need a dealer to unblock it)

Thanks guys, normal tap water or do you use de-ionised/filtered water. I'm in a hard water area.

Do you actually need to use BMW screenwash? My Cooper is currently on the production line...
In theory no - but there have been known issues with BMWs and Minis (including my R56 that I solved myself) where the washer pump filter gets clogged with congealed residue.

Whether it's actually down to mixing bmw and non-bmw screenwash or just not a high enough strength screenwash being used, remains to be seen

it's down to mixing different types. On some cars it's a pain as accessing the water bottle or filter can be difficult. However, if you do find your washers aren't working and can hear the pump and it's clearly not frozen then pop a couple of steradent tablets in and next day they will be working fine. I have done this as my MOT was due in a couple of days a few years back so was hunting originally for how to get to the water bottle - on a corsa it might be a wheel arch liner removal which I didn't really want to do and found a post about steradent tablets so gave that a go and sure enough it worked.

Hooning around it a f561.5 Cooper auto and it's indeed good fun in sport mode. Other modes are too laggy.

I don't think this motor is peppy enough for a Clubman which is about 150kg heavier.

I found it's fine just tootling around in normal mode when you need to, but yes, the 1.5 in sport mode is plenty fun enough really.

Annoying thing about sport mode is that it makes the steering so gratuitously heavy...

I want the throttle response but not the overly heavy slow steering. One of the only issues I have with my JCW is the very slow rack.

Yeah I thought the steering was mental heavy. But I thought it was that level across all modes. The one in my Clubman Cooper s is so much lighter and prefer it. I think it has the auto variable rack.

If I remember correctly when I had the F56 JCW I could select the the normal steering weight instead of it going heavier in sport? Have you got options? It may have been the dampers though can't remember. Though it was always responsive and fast. Never felt slow as you mention. Did you come from a Fiesta though? I bet they have faster racks.

When I had the JCW though I felt normal mode was responsive enough. Most of time when pottering I was just in eco. Throttle is super sensitive in sport. Same as in the Clubman Cooper S.

On another note having so many Ratios in the Clubman bring the B58 alive. The 8 speed auto with its short ratios really sling shot the car relative to its weight and power. Glad it's got decent paddle shifters for when I want to override some downshifts and even up shifts.

The B48 with the 8 speed felt smooth and creamy like a 6cyl when jumping from the b38 6psd auto in the F56. It's amazing how different your car feels when you spend a day in another car.

The 8 speed box in the F56 JCW is very good the short ratios make it feel faster than you’d expect with the modest power output compared to other 2L hot hatches.

The tall 8th also allows impressive fuel consumption when cruising I’ve taken it up north a few times recently and mid 50mpg easily achievable.
