Who here owns a Renaultsport?

uhuh, there were 2 cars racing as well and jesus they flew, there was absolutely no chance I could keep up with them :(

Seems like 0-25mph on the clio is pretty slow? But once you reach 25mph it starts picking up some serious speed.

Not really, the 0-60 is that of most Hot hatches if not quicker than a lot! You need to work out how to get a good jump. Stay at or around 4000RPM and then floor it. Quaranteed to get a jump on most cars out there.

as a 182 . . .bloody quick wee car gets the power down really well, from a standing start there isnt much in it.......after about 50-60mph(VXR) pulled away no bother....182 has the same sort of performance as a leon cupra 1.8t (old style) the 182 handles ace was in it against a megane f1 sport thing.....it left on the straights but on the twisty stuff the 182 was all over the back of it

not bad cars 182's i used to own a civic type r ep3 model and had a few mods like k-pro ecu and full exhaust and my mates 182 would be all over the back end till 100mph. not a bad car. and have you seen the price of them now. pick one up for pennies. would love to do a track day in one of these.

have the stage 3 astra now so abviously he don't stand a chance.

My mates got one, the 182 Cup and we had a play once on the motorway. Upto 70mph there was nothing in it... and I can only presume, having never driven above the speed limit, that the Astra would begin to pull away when the speeds went above the 70mph. So that would be just a guess

What some folks on VXR online say the Astra is 240BHP. Unless you are trying to drag supercars or play with the big boys the 182 is quite suprisingly quick for a small car.

Just be slow to release the clutch but put the power down from the start ie foot to the floor! Ohhh and turn the TC off so it does not bog down :) Have fun haha..

I didn't realise the TC was something you could turn on/off at choice, thought it was something that just comes in automatically. Never had a car with TC!

Its the ESP. Always keep it on if I was you but to get a very quick start as the TC will kick in and bog the revs down turn it off. Its the button that says ESP near the drivers door :)

I see! :D Must see some gains, wont get hardly any from a N/A engine and a stock map. I would say and its a guess a couple bhp. Did it feel any different? How come you went and installed an RS Tuner map? Fix the lumpy idle?

Among other things, just seemed like a good thing to do for such little cost, it also sorted out the kangaroo effect you get when the engine is cold. Now the car drives fine from cold :)

I'm going to the OcUK rolling road day in Guildford in March so will be interesting to see how close it is to a true 182.

And honestly I don't think ESP does much on the Cliosports tbh.

It does tbf. Few times in the wet it has stopped the back end coming out. Saved my bacon a few times on some spirited country driving. In summer though mine is always off :D Good to know the limits of the car.

I see :) Such a pants engine from cold. My gearbox is rubbish to say the least very notchy on a cold start. Nothing to fix this mind.

I'd also say the ESP has saved me a few times. Although having said that as I never have it off I don't know how the car would have reacted in those situations if it wasn't on.

Oh in wet situations, that's a different scenario altogether ;)

Yeaa in summer the car is perfect to control you know exactly when and if the back will step out or under steer/overseer. Has to be pushed really hard but really is an easy car to manipulate. In the wet hmmmm I get a little scared, far too twitchy for me!

RSClio, just seen your pics in the 'Show us your motors' thread, it looks very nice indeed.

I WISH my Milltek would sit like yours does (yours is a Milltek right?) Even with new exhaust mounts, shed loads of cables ties, etc., it still drops too much for my liking.

Do what I usually do and get big jubilee clips round the rubber mounts and tighten the jubilee clip squashing the rubber mount until you get the exhaust to sit where you want.
