Who here owns a Renaultsport?

Oh yeah I completely agree, if you've got a whole host of mods then a custom remap is definitely worth it. I've just got a cat back system though, so for me the extra just wouldn't be worth it :)

I've not done it myself, but I've heard that most of the problems come with trying to get the old system off, some people resort to cutting the old system in half. If you've got it up in the air it's a different matter, but on axle stands you might struggle.

It's doable though.

I think personally myself would take it to a decent indy and let them do the hard work. Have no idea how much they would charge. Reckon £90? Would be a good solid days work and pleanty of swearing and cuts to the hands!! Ha :)

I bought my Milltek from AMD Essex, the price included fitting, although it did mean a drive up to Thurrock, which I don't mind to be honest. I don't think I could have fitted it myself, although since then I have managed to fit my own coilovers and new brake discs all round, go me :)

Alex, you're not far from me :) My girlfriend lives down in Pevensey Bay, so we're occasionally over Brighton way :)

Think i might leave this job to the professionals, i can see myself getting halfway, and then realising im now screwed.

I don't actually live in brighton, i say i do because it makes me feel better about myself. I actually live just down the road, in, "stairway to heaven" or its other name, Worthing. We should meet up one day and geek out taking photos of each others cars :D :p

You guys declared your remaps to insurance? The guy at K-Tek said it wasn't necessary as it really can't be detected unless they were to plug into the computer and notice that the maps were different.

Yeah have done mine :) Did not increase it. Better be safe than sorry. You know what insurance folks do to wriggle out of paying!

I reckon 172! ;) The one I went to in Leeds before christmas most made low 170s or high 160s!! Not good with an engine quoted at 182PS but Renault engines are always down.

I think I live in this thread!! Haha have a strange love and passion for the 1*2's :)

Any of you chaps had a whistling noise develop when over 5000rpm? (seems to be from the rear of the car) Mine over the past 2 months or so has started doing this and it's pretty annoying, from what I've read it seems to be exhaust related but others are saying it's to do with the acoustic valve

Phoned my insurance the other day.

Yep - 6 years no claims, decent postcode, 24 years old.

We won't insure you on that - **** YOU MORE THAN. Time to change insurance companies.

Means losing out on half a years no claims mind :(

When are you 25? It's often a cut off for insurance. Try an online quote with morethan and change your DOB to show you are already 25 (to give you an idea of future prices before anyone starts crying ;) )

A year away, even still there is people on here at 19 with one of these! More Than are just shocking, one of the worst companies I have dealt with and the quicker they stop getting my money the better.

I don't mind too much losing out on a years no claims, it won't make a massive difference anway.

Try sky insurance (nothing to do with the tv company). They offer club insurance and were the cheapest quote I got by a long way. My current insurer offered the same but they were a pile of monkey **** so wanted to leave them asap. I have 7 points, 2y ncb and a recent claim (non fault) and my 182 is just under 1k annual.

I't will be! :D

Nope standard are Bosch old school blades. They wine? Mine do at 120+ (Not on public roads) Do they do it durning normal driving at legal speeds? I may stick to the old style if thats the case :)

Was only at around 50-60mph and that was during the test drive, though I've not heard it since but I might have put them back on a different way round.

Nope makes it much more progressive throughout the rev range. Sure it is a much smoother curve but IMO dosen't take anything from the car.

I agree. Make's it much more driveable. Especially at low revs, it felt very underpowered and waiting for it to 'pick up' when pulling away gave me sad face :( In 5th at 70+ it's very noticable. Pulls much harder in all the gears tbh.
I had mine done down at K-tec and that was £250 including a RR before & after. With my Miltek already on there I made a claimed increase of 8bhp, whether or not this is accurate who knows. The fact that I found myself being pushed back a little and caught off guard when pulling away was evidence enough for me that power delivery was different and improved.

And honestly I don't think ESP does much on the Cliosports tbh.

Helped in the snow last year a fair bit, though maybe I'm confused with the TC.

I've always used elephant/bell. Got a fantastic quote on my 182, whereas more than wanted 3x the amount
