When I picked my 172 up from being serviced the mechanic (I always use) said the exhaust rattle I had was the baffle inside, he said when they fitted the new backbox they must have dropped it or something.
So I thought ok I will get an aftermarket one or a full system some point soon, it wasn't causing any issues, anyway today driving along the exhaust emissions lights starts flashing and when I pull away from junctions it sounds like its struggling, I pull up at home go round the back of the car and its going "pomb pomb pomb pomb pomb pomb"
New backbox time or something else? clio sport forums is down it seems.

Sounds to me like your coilpack has gone tbh, or possibly a lambda sensor. I very much doubt your exhaust would cause the car to run that poor.
Any garage worth their salt will have a code reader, can plug the car in and tell exactly what the fault is

Yea he did, turned out the MAF sensor came up as faulty but he said it was just loose so he plugged it in and it was ok, so maybe it is that?

When was it the maf sensor was diagnosed as faulty? Could possibly be something has gone belly up since then.
As i say at a guess i would say coil pack as theyre a fairly common failure on the 1*2's

Very good condition, dissapointed to be selling but company car forces sale - this car must be seen!. £4,000 ONO.
Should really go and see it!

Try direct line, they are the cheapest for the quotes Ive been getting for a clio 182.
But with directline you cannot mod your car until you're 25 i think.
They are pretty cheap though.

Greenlight were by far and away the cheapest for me.
bloody hell £650 with directline fully comp! How is that even possible lol, and im only 23 (24 end of month) so the no mods thing might be an issue. Especially as the exhaust is prone to coming loose and needs changing.
I really want to go and view this car but I could do with someone knowing more about them than me to take a gander.

Spent today grazing knucklesFitted a BMC CDA airbox. sounds good but now have to remap the ecu again
One thing i hate about the wifes car is the lack of space in the engine compartment.
Why do you have to remap it again? What map is on there already?

lol, Directline were cheapest for me aswell, online it was cheaper to insure it fully comp rather than TPFT. wtf.

I'm with directline with my 182. I got it for £700 fully comp, but as i now have 4 years ncb, i decided to protect them which bumped it to £950. Still not too bad being 23 and a liverpool post code.
Although my exhaust will need replacing soon (the renualt one rusts like crazy). I don't want to spend £k's on a original renualt, and the no-mods thing until 25 is a little worrying.
The thing is, if i put on a miltek stainless stell exhaust, in theory would it not just be like putting on some eagle F1 tyres? Not the standard Mich Pilot's, so they could say the tyres are not standard either.

Just get a stealth performance one, I wouldn't declare that.
It looks standard then.
Mine is rusted like crazy aswell
