Who here owns a Renaultsport?

I discovered a leaking rear passenger side damper on Sunday. Managed to get a used pair from a low milage car for £10 so not too bad.

Does anyone happen to know how much the pads drag on the discs? fitted new discs on the weekend but kept the original pads (they had been changed 3 or 4 months ago by previous owner) and I can hear them dragging ever so slightly when going along (with windows open). fronts also do it but not as much... but I haven't had them apart.

The Trophy has a cloth rear bench?!

Yes, and standard door cards from a standard clio!! It also has a standard wiper from a clio, so you only get a set intermediate wipe, not the 5 option stalk as found in the 182!!

The odd thing is, is that the wiper programming is there, it's just the physically stalk. Ive swapped mine, its a god send in rain.

LMAO :D

That's nearly as bas British Leyland having the reversing bulb as an optional extra

Thanks for the heads up - I've sent him a message.

He wants £400 for the dampers, which is not cheap enough for me to consider.

I'm hoping we can strike a better deal when we throw the gearbox in to the mix.

If I can negotiate the gearbox and suspension for around £500 with myself arranging shipping (costs me nothing) - I'll be an extremely happy chappy, even if the suspension did require a refurb in the near future.

Why are the sachs dampers considered so good? Can someone provide a link with a real comparison between 'standard' hot hatch dampers?

Preferably one that does not originate from an rs owners forum :)

Hadn't thought about the gearbox too. Could be a good deal in it for you.
