I've been looking at these as my missus wants one.
She wants the antracite wheels though
The desire to mod my Clio has got to me too
I could spend so much on it if I had the money
I beg to differ, 16" Super Leggeras 6KG
I'm looking at the 172/182 as a possible new car come September.
I will have about £3500 to spend and i cant realy think of anything for that money that is better?
I want a red or blue one but wouldnt say no to black I only drive a 1.4 ibiza so will be a nice step up.
Do you think insurance will be a problem? Im 21 have 2 years NCB. Pay £500 for my shopping cart at the moment.
@ 21 expect the insurance will be well over £1500 for you
i paid £3500 for my black 172 PH2, 40K on the clock about 10 months ago
This may be a very silly/stupid question, but when I was sitting in a 182 last night I noticed a button called ESP. Am I correct in thinking that this is traction control? I wasn't aware they had traction control?
Yeh it has ESP (or traction control). To be honest I don't think it does much, I only ever notice it on track if I come out of a hairpin with too much throttle, but then it reminds me to turn it off lol!
Can't go too wrong with those Pagid RS 4-2 pads, worth the money as they last ages.

Just done a quick confused.com and cheapest was £1123 for a 2003 172
Not bad at all. And should be cheaper when i come to get one hopefully
I have ESP in my 172
ESP stands for: Electronic Stability Control and does TWO things
1) Traction control
2) and i cant remeber what its called lol
On paper, it works by monitoring the vehicle's road speed, steering wheel angle and the lateral forces exerted on the vehicle, and then either brakes one or more wheels with the aid of ABS, and can also retard engine speed in order to correct the car's trajectory.
In reality, the ESP is definitely a valuable addition, and while you can tell when it's in operation, it's unobtrusive nature means you can concentrate 100 per cent on the next apex without being abruptly shunted about due to heavy braking, for example. Thankfully the ESP is switchable, and a little warning light will flash if it thinks you should turn it on, when you spark up the front wheels, for instance.
So to get some nice back end action on corners, switch it off
