Who here owns a Renaultsport?

If you ever see the ESP light when driving on the road, you don't deserve a licence tbh! You've got to try very hard to get it to come on! (Apart from just dumping the clutch at high revs!)

hahaha are you serious, i think we must have completely different traction control systems or you just drive like a complete wet

The ESP light will often flash on, cutting the power and generally halting progress ... nothing to do with dumping the clutch ....

child killerzzzzz :p

Well I do quite a lot of trackdays and don't often see it come on on track!

What are you doing for the light to come on?

True mate, i think its allways worth while buying the best as not only does it perform the best it allways last ages ... Another example is tyres, the Eagle F1s may grip nearly as well as the pe2s but there so soft you do a set in 5000 miles :p

Anyone got any advice on my brake fluid ;)

Yup my pe2s last me ages, need a new set of tyres all round at the moment and torn between the hankook ventus evo thingies or just stick with pe2s.

I went for Yellowstuff pads and Brembo Max discs this time round, should be fitted in the next week or so. Going from Greenstuffs and Max discs which have been very good and lasted ages as well.

Also running goodridge lines which made a nice difference.

As for fluid, I was always advised to use the Castrol Response Super DOT4 by some of the chaps who have track experience of these over on Cliosport.

As i previousley said i think the systems must differ in some way because in my trophy the need to turn it off on road was small and evan when i took it to the ring i dont remember needing to turn it off

Often throwing it into tight corners and accelerating out can cause the light to come on etc ... It reminds me of a mini cooper S i used to drive at work, trying to press on with the traction control on that was also allmost impossible....

Thanks mate, i will get some lines + castrol response super dot 4 ordered up :)

I have a quick question. As I've never had a car with power steering I don't know if this is normal behaviour, also because I know the PAS pump needs replacing I'm not sure if it could be caused by that.

So, my question is, does Power Assisted Steering sometimes steer the car for you? I don't know how else to explain this. But sometimes it feels like the car is trying to steer me off the road. For example, the power steering seems to be following the camber of the road if it happens to be big. I hope I have explained this properly. It's not that bad, but I've noticed it on a couple of occasions.

Also, when I put my foot down in 1st or 2nd the steering becomes very light. I guess this is just because all the weight is on the back of the car, but it has nearly caught me out once or twice.

I'm possibly exaggerating slightly and just worrying for the sake of worrying but I thought I'd ask.

I had 4 new Michelin Pilot Exalto's fitted today, as well as the tracking checked, and the car feels much more stable under heavy acceleration/braking now :)

Hurrah.

Good stuff :)

I need to get 2 new Michelin Pilot Exalto's for the front. How much did you pay per corner?

Oh, and we're still waiting for some pics ;)

They were £103 fitted per corner, which isn't bad, but not great.

Unfortunately it wasn't until after they fitted them that I realised they had quoted me excluding VAT, the ********! I just took it on the chin and probably won't use them again. Turns out Kwik Fit would have been the cheapest.

On the plus side, and having driven the car another 40 miles or so since my last post, my GOD what a difference. I can't believe how much nicer the car is to drive, it sticks to the road better AND feels more stable at speed. I LOVE it :)

I did post some pics, but they were only crappy mobile ones. I'll do some proper ones once the car is how I want it (Eibach Sportlines + Milltek exhaust fitted)

anyone know where the bonnet sensor is on a 182. I have spent AGES trying to find out and having no luck. My alarms been dodgy and I think its a faulty bonnet sensor

Pics of my car if someone could circle where it is, or where its meant to be -

On mine it's on the plastic slam panel cover. You can see it on this one, http://www.allvehicles.co.uk/854.jpg , it's one of the three black things on the far right of the plastic panel in front of the air box. Doesn't like like it's there on yours...

Has anyone had any problems with a rattling exhaust heatshield at 6k+ revs?

I've glued various areas of mine to the bottom of the car with Araldite and it's reduced it a little but it still vibrates and sounds horrible :(
