Who here owns a Renaultsport?

I dunno then. My mates 182 on Parada's gripped better in the dry than mine did on both T1Rs and PE2's. Maybe they have changed the compound as they were incredibly soft?

The PE2s were a fantastic all round tyre though. Great in the wet and the dry, and I even did a trackday on them. If only they weren't so expensive :(

Had the brakes re-bled(sp?) after having gotten a little air in the lines and most likely ABS. They (My local RS specialist) bled them initially but 'couldn't get the pedal right' so did it again and then a further time manually. They also actuated the ABS module (or whatever that process is that auto activates the module and clears air out).

There was still quite a large amount of play in the pedal but it was at least biting fully but was about an inch away from the pedals full range of travel. I wasn't getting full bite before and no ABS cutting in.

I took it back again this afternoon and it's a little better but is still a good 2 inches or so of travel before I feel any noticeable bite. If I pump the brakes with the engine off they stiffen up but still has just over an inch or so of movement.

I did around 2-300 miles since putting the pads in which are DS2500's with Brembo HC discs and Goodridge braided lines. Fluid is/was ATE superblue.

They suggested it could be the compound in the pads needing to harden up. On my previous 182 with the same setup, albeit different fluid, it was perfectly fine.

The pads have been sat in the house for about 9 months and were bought unused off another member on CS.

I'm at a loss as what it could be?

That's the exact same setup of brakes and fluid I have and I don't have that issue. The pedal has only got long recently as the fluid needs changing. It sounds like old fluid, but shouldn't be.

This is what I can't get my head around. I'll have a look to check the pads are seated properly and that the backing plate isn't cracked or something (if that's even possible).

They're adamant all the air is gone from the lines. I just don't think that a soft compound pad will give that much pedal play. I could understand if the bite was progressive but it's just non existent until about 2 inches in. The lines can't be bulging, again, don't know if that's possible either.

Everything worked perfectly before, albeit pads were a little low.

So what have you actually had changed?

Braided Lines,
DS2500s front & rear (got the rears for the same price as OEM's, I know they're basically useless!)
OEM discs rear
Brembo HC's front

The small rings that came off the old rear discs I'm fairly certain were put on the new discs the correct way around. The discs already had the rings pressed in, I'm making reference to the small thin metal ring. I don't think this would cause any pedal travel problems but perhaps ABS issues if they weren't correctly fitted.

Whats broken? :(

Gearbox is whining like a sequential...could just need a fluid change.
Needs new discs & pads all round
2 x front tyres (soon)
Drive shaft
Engine mounts
And i think the suspension has had it too, which is pretty pathetic at just over a year. Car seems pretty wofty at the moment.

Tax is also due at the end of the month, so all of that pretty much cancels any more track days this year :(
