Who here owns a Renaultsport?

Having a quick look, it seems very mixed with some people getting one and others not, sounds like a propper remap can sort it out

I chopped my centre silencer and got the flat spot as you say, now i've got the Scorpion resonated system and the Toyo manifold and the flat spot has all but gone (but could still do with a remap)

Regardless of what you have though, a remap is probably 90% guaranteed to fix it. RSTuning or EngineDynamics are the lads to go to for remaps on these cars.

Never posted before but then I saw the words RenaultSport so had to pop up haha.
I've currently got a selection of cars (and live very local to OC)
Just bought a Full Fat 182 in black gold with a knackered diff. Got a new box going in after Christmas so then will be putting it into daily duties to replace the MK1 MX5 I bought when I blew up my Mini JCW haha.

Previously owned a couple of 172 Cups, my last one I shouldn't have sold!

My exhaust finally gave in the other week - one of the rear silencers snapped off and jettisoned the car mid journey. Good job nothing was behind :/. I did a bit of a post mortem and it seems like the clamp between the mid/back section had come loose which allowed the back section to slide back and pop out the rear mounts and gravity did the rest to snap it.

Had to stuff a rag over the pipe for a few weeks in order to muffle the sound, it worked remarkably well!

Old, looking a bit worse for wear. You can see the snapped silencer at the top:

Shiny new K-Tec Janspeed:

Fitted it and some brand new PowerFlex rear mounts last weekend, on the drive in the pouring rain and freezing weather. I was saturated when I got back in :/.

Sending an inlet to M.S Engineering next week to be ported out and gas flowed, also having it repainted at the same time in Anthracite. This is a pic of one that shows how much improvement there is to be made :)

They are about 45 minutes away from me and I have been tempted to get mine done. Let me know if you feel any difference!

I will do, going to see how it feels for a week or so as I'm a little concerned it may reintroduce flat spotting but if it does I should be able to get my map tweaked by EFI since I already have his map on the car as it is.

I thought the gains Vs cost of this was minimal and pointless, money better spent else where

As is the way with pretty much any NA modding really. I've heard a couple of sources saying that they felt it beneficial on the 197/200 and so thought I'd give it a go for myself, if they are minor then it really isn't a huge loss and be good to know it's there should I decide to go further with mods at a later time.

Can anyone recommend a place to have the big 6 year service done (belt changes etc) on my RS265 in the south? I will be giving Ktech and Rentech (Portsmouth) a call for quotes after my local Renault service centre quoted me £1,250!

Replaced the Forge dump valve with a Properfekt recirc valve on my R26. What a complete pain in the arse that was! Had to remove the KTR strut brace and induction kit in order to tighten up the bolts to hold the new valve in place. The lack of space in the engine bay is horrible compared to my old mx5 that it replaced.

If anyone's after a Forge dump valve kit for their R26/225 then my old ones up for sale

Fitted freshly ported, gas flowed and painted inlet manifold to my Clio (Sorry for text on the first photo)

Also had my last powerflex engine mount fitted on the gearbox, fresh Motul RBF600 Fluid and oil/filter :)

Found a steering wheel lurking in the garage this evening from when I last had a 182 about 4 years ago.

No airbag but does have buttons (can't be certain they are working). They used to fetch good money a while back for people to refurb for the dreaded thumb grip melt etc.

Any idea ballpark what I should be asking before I plonk a listing up? :) £30-40?

Should be good money for a 197, spending a bit of time on Ebay ect, would help give you an idea what you can buy for that sort of money

Arrrghh just found out about the gearbox issues on these, seems quite widespread as well. I think the 200s are still affected by this? I can see a few 200s around the budget as well or 197 Cups but think that would be a bit too much for daily commuting

You when something goes wrong people complain about it.... and when everything is fine you hear nothing... yeah they are a problem, but that does not mean they are all a problem, would not put me off
